"What use is it to take, say, three more countries into the EU, if we’re blocked and can’t proceed with political integration?"

Those are the recent words used by the French foreign minister, Bernard Kouchner. Could someone please ask Gordon Brown and David Miliband why they keep assuring us that "political integration" is not an issue when there is so much evidence to the contrary.

  1. No-one dares talk about a federal state because they know that the voters in the EU won't have any of it.

    Everything has to happen by stealth, making the EU for more dangerous.
