Jim Sheridan, another of the Scottish Labour cabal that have ruined this Country over the last 12 years was on the Today programme defending Michael Martin and attacking Douglas Carswell and Kate Hoey. It seems that in his view Michael Martin is totally innocent and being unfairly picked upon. It is an interesting point of view albeit wrong of course.
One factor that James Sheridan and his ilk always claim is true is that Michael Martin is denigrated because of his humble origins, in other words it is a snob thing. This really annoys me, here's the backgrounds of the Speakers that preceded Michael Martin: Betty Boothroyd - Tiller girl, dancer and then Labour MP
Bernard Weatherill - Tailor who ended up running the family firm, then Conservative MP
George Thomas - Teacher, then Labour MP
That list simply shows the lack of "posh" Speakers.
The reasons that Michael Martin must go are that he is inept, biased towards his Labour friends (especially those Scottish MPs that share his views) and has lost the respect of the Country as well as the House of Commons.
