Referendums/Referenda

I was just researching my piece on Gordon Brown's economic ineptitude, especially with regard to his sale of 60% of the UK's gold reserves at a most inopportune time, when I came across this line from the BBC analysis of the UK just prior to the 2005 election "Now referendums appear to be a permanent feature of the political landscape with all the parties signing up for them.".

My, how the political landscape has changed with Gordon Browns volte face on the EU Constitution referendum.
