"Millions of pounds of taxpayers' money will be spent improving the constituency offices of MPs as part of a shake-up of their expenses.
A Commons committee chaired by Speaker Michael Martin is to hand out around £6million for renovation projects after complaints that MPs cannot afford to pay for decent offices out of their current expenses.
But far from ensuring MPs search for the best deal possible, the committee will also insist offices are based in large 'houses of character', with 'best quality fittings throughout'."
Read the rest of the report and wonder at the cheek of our elected representatives. People might think that Speaker Martin seems determined to get as much money into the hands of as many as MPs as possible, does he think this will save his job?
