Tax them until the pips squeak (a reprise of the 1970s)

I see that TUC General secretary Brendan Barber is confused as to who are the "super-rich". He has said that extreme wealth was "socially divisive and morally objectionable" and the TUC has called for higher tax rates to be imposed on earnings between £100,000-£150,000 and over £200,000. Somehow I doubt that many of the people earning £150,000 or even £250,000 would be considered as super-rich by anyone other than those indulging in the politics of envy. The examples of the super-rich given by the TUC such as Lakshmi Mittal, Roman Abramovich and the Hinduja brothers don't earn £250,000 a year they earn far more. However it is not the few billionaires that would be hit by such a tax, as they would leave the UK, it is the wealth creators and professionals who would be hit and who would pay once again for more of the same failed social policies that Gordon Brown has been taxing us to pay for for 11 years.

I must declare an interest here - my earnings fall well under the £100,00 limit.
