Hypnotism is just the newest and most advanced form of rhetoric, and very evolutionary. Hypnosis has a rich history dating back to the birth of rationalism and can be studied with a little effort by anyone interested. Any institutional powers who don't know about this, and many of them don't, are truly behind the times of an intellectual revolution. I don't see an issue with Mr Obama using it, it's not like the other side isn't doing their best to perform the same effects.
