As an antidote to the BBC's fawning coverage of Gordon Brown's visit to Barack Obama
I loved it that in the exchange of presents Godo gave a set of first editions on Churchill (after Obama removed his bust from the White House) and a pen set made from a slave ship. Obama gave a box set of DVD's including Star Wars. Obama is probably repeating the Colonial practice of giving beads in exchange for more valuable items.
