The UK "best placed" to weather the depression

Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling's claims that Britain was best placed to weather the "downturn" have been shown as rubbish on many occasions, today I read that:
"The International Monetary Fund has just delivered another blow to Gordon Brown.... It is predicting that the UK economy will decline by 0.2 per cent in 2010, while saying the United States will grow by 0.2 per cent, the euro zone by 0.1 per cent and Canada by 1.2 per cent."
Gordon Brown; happily screwing up our economy since 1997.
