Here is a 'real' Sontaran...



From Wikipedia we can see some similarities:

"The Sontarans are a race of humanoids with a stocky build, greenish brown skin, and a distinctive dome-shaped head.... The Sontarans have a highly militaristic culture; every aspect of their society is geared toward warfare, and every experience is viewed in terms of its martial relevance."

and some notable differences:

"Reproduction - The Sontarans reproduce by means of cloning rather than sexual reproduction... Sontarans reproduce asexually and all the Sontarans depicted in the television series are of one gender (male)"
