"Gordon Brown has postponed plans to publish on Monday a “next steps” plan for Labour’s last months in office before the election, as ministers try to rustle up new ideas to revive his administration.I think the expression "Dead Man Walking" sums up Gordon Brown at the moment.
Mr Brown on Friday convened a three-hour cabinet meeting to discuss the initiative – dubbed “Building Britain’s Future” – which he hopes will provide the government with new momentum.
But Mr Brown’s team feared that the draft document – due to be launched next week – was light on new policies and did not contain a convincing political narrative.
A trawl around Whitehall departments for ideas was said to have been underwhelming. Civil servants privately admit it is hard to motivate officials to devise policies for a government whose term has less than a year to run and that could soon be out of office."
I am not a sheep, I have my own mind
I have had enough of being told what and how to think
Whilst we are still allowed the remnants of free speech,
I will speak out.
I also reserve the right to discuss less controversial matters should I feel the urge.
