Hiding the unemployment figures BBC style

The worst unemployment figures since record began were announced yesterday and yet today the news seems to have disappeared from the BBC news website. Nothing on news front page, nothing on business news front page and nothing on the politics front page. I seem to remember that when unemployment was rising under a Conservative government the news was kept alive day by day by day after an announcement of an increase almost until the next months figures were announced. Now under a Labour government it is news for a day and then nothing, not a word.

UK Unemployment rose by a record 281,000 to 2.38 million in the three months to May this year. That's a 13.39% increase in unemployment in three months; 13.39%, isn't that worthy of comment? Anyone would think that the BBC were trying to minimise coverage of news that might adversely affect their friends in the Labour government...
