"For the last 13 years, Labour have constantly meddled with the tax rules for freelancers and self-employed. IR35 has especially proved to over-complex, uncertain and often unfair. At a time when Britain should be open for business, Gordon Brown has made it harder to be self-employed. This is why a Conservative Government would mandate the independent Office of Tax Simplification to undertake a fundamental review of current arrangements with the aim of providing a clearer, lasting and fairer tax regime."Any IT consultants out there not sure who to vote for?

Could this be a reason to vote Conservative?
It is being reported that Shadow Business Minister, Mark Prisk today stated that
"undertake a fundamental review"
ReplyDeleteOh yes that really gives me confidence that something will change.
Sorry but nothing Cast-Iron Dave says now will convince me that he's actually any different from the other lot.
Their fundamental review would no doubt conclude that, much as they'd like to do something really nice, unfortunately the real-world situation we find ourselves in means...blah blah...EU law requires us to...yadda yadda...one must look forward and not back...mumble mumble...so for the time being...mutter mutter...not possible...would be unrealistic to expect...
And nothing will change. You're still shafted, suckers. Just bend over and take it.
