'Israel has criticised Britain's ambassador to Lebanon for eulogising a recently deceased Lebanese cleric said to have inspired Hezbollah.Of course many in the BBC admire people like Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, indeed his views are probably seen by many of the 'we are all Hezbollah/Hamas now' brigade so prevalent within that loathsome organisation. As for the UK's Foreign Office, well it is not known as the "Camel Corps" for nothing, maybe it's the training of many at the Middle East Centre for Arabic Studies (MECAS)?
Frances Guy wrote on her personal blog that Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah was a "decent man" who rated among the people she most admired.
An Israeli spokesman said Ayatollah Fadlallah was "unworthy of praise".
The UK foreign office says it has taken down the blog after "mature consideration". '
