The BBC are most concerned that David Cameron is being friendlier to the multi-cultural democracy that is India rather than the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. I wonder if they will therefore report the Pew attitude survey as reported in the New English Review which reveals that 85% of Pakistanis believe in the segregation of men and women in the workplace, 82% in the stoning of adulterers, 82% in whippings or the cutting off of hands for theft or robbery and most shocking of all 76% believe in the death penalty for people who leave Islam.
Any chance of the BBC reporting this survey's results?
Well, I wouldn't take too much notice of opinion polls, especially in Pakistan.
ReplyDeleteI had lunch today with a Pakistani friend of mine, Riaz.
After a short chat about the cricket, ( he first came here in the early 1960s, as one of the first Pakistani cricketers to play county cricket ), I asked him about Cameron in India. He was very disappointed, saying that Cameron has not helped the cause of secular Pakistanis, just playing, unwittingly, into the hands of extremists.
