Do looks matter in politics?

No nothing to do with John Prescott's new advertisement for GoCompare.com or Eric Pickles but Stumbling & Mumbling's piece which reports 'This new paper suggests an ... explanation:
We find that candidates on the right look better than candidates on the left. Second, we find a greater effect of good looks, in terms of more votes, for candidates on the right.'

All this and 'As Will said in The Greatest TV Show Ever Made: “I’m a man of strong principles, and one of those principles is that I’ll do anything a girl I fancy asks me to.”'

  1. Honestly, unfortunately, yes, looks do matter in politics. Just think about how dumbed down the general public is - all they really understand are pretty faces and voices that say exactly what they want to hear. Sad but true. Now, Should looks matter in politics? Of course not.
