Did Angela Merkel really say that?


"The world is looking at Germany, whether we are strong enough to accept responsibility for the biggest crisis since the Second World War."
Did Angela Merkel really say that? Is there no word for irony in German?

    "Ironie" from the Greek "eironeia" shared with just about every other European language, ... well probably not Welsh.

    It's "Ironie", but nobody understands it. They're the most literal people on the planet.
