Why can't the UK be more like Norway?
Nigel Farage thinks we should be and that David Cameron has admitted that we can leave the EU and still have a trade agreement with it via the EEA.
Because we don't have more oil and gas than we can sensibly use ourselves. The Norwegian economy is powered by oil and gas and it has energy resources like no other country on the Western edge of the European continent, and the EU needs Norway more than Norway needs the EU. That's why we can't be like Norway.
On the other hand, being outside the EU would be no bad thing.
