The mathematician on the original French show excelled at this sort of solution with big numbers, usually finishing by dividing by 25. If you have 25, 50, 75 & 100 there is a limited number of operations of the form f(x) = ax+/-b e.g. f(x) = (75x-50)/25 = 3x-2, that can be applied to the result of the other 3 numbers.
