Free speech vs 'safe space' - a revealing piece of audio
A fascinating piece of audio. When and how did universities become places where people couldn't bear to hear contrary views to their own? Maybe this video I posted is not too far from the truth.
What do these students do when they leave university? I've never worked in a job where I didn't hear a remark by someone that I disagreed with and which could have upset me. How are they going to hold down a job; if you go to the works canteen, you can't help overhearing what other people say even if it is not directed at you personally. Are the courts going to be filled with these people claiming that they have been upset by something they heard? Will all employers be expected to provide a safe space where these people can calm down? Will the boss be allowed to reprimand his staff when they have done something wrong? In some ways it has already started. My daughter just mentioned to one of her female staff that she had been late for work on far too many occasions and was met by a screaming fit about "invading my private life". No doubt she learnt this at university!
