I've been watching the BBC's early evening, so main catch up, Commonwealth Games programme. Two female presenters: Clare Balding and Gabby Logan, seemingly always a female guest and Michael Johnson. Tonight there's two female guests and Michael Johnson.
Is this female heavy coverage BBC policy?
I also feel that female athletes are getting more coverage than male, but I may be wrong. However any coverage of female athletes does illustrate how poor their performances are, in general, compared to men in the same events. I've blogged about this before: event for event, men are faster, stronger and better than women in virtually every event. The exceptions: equestrian events and is there another?
Some examples from the athletics:
The winner of the women's 100m's time bettered only the times of nine first round men's times.
The winner of the women's 10,000 metres' time would have been good enough to finish over 20 seconds behind the last man in the men's event.
I could go on and on but why bother?
