Dashcam captures 'sleeping' driver crash per BBC News who display #EverydaySexism

This BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-northamptonshire-44088926/a14-dashcam-captures-sleeping-driver-crash exhibits everyday sexism. Why does it twice denote the sex of the driver? How is that relevant? If it had been a women driver would the BBC have described that or considered that irrelevant?
