Is the BBC biased?: Emily Maitlis's question about democracy

Craig at Isthebbcbiased.blogspot.co.uk has a great spot http://isthebbcbiased.blogspot.com/2018/11/emily-maitliss-question-about-democracy.html from the BBC's Emily Maitlis:

'I'm going to say something really unpopular, which is that we keep on talking about, you know, the problem with democracy and the problem with the deficit, but at what point you to say, actually, democracy is not as important as the future economy and stability and prosperity of the country right now?'

Words fail me but I'm not really that shocked by the words of a BBCoid.
