ISIS supporter who planned attacks against Jews and Prince George could face life

The BBC reports on Husnain Rashid's trial have concentrated on the Prince George angle and mentioned the football stadiums too, however I didn't spot any mention of Jewish communities.

So I was interested to read this:

'His list of targets were wide-ranging – including British Army bases, shopping centres, Jewish communities and Government buildings.'

More at the Times Of Israel here

I wonder why the BBC chose to keep that aspect of this ISIS supporter's targeting from the British public. Actually I don't, the BBC are doing their usual best to keep any reportage of Islam's problem Jews under the covers. Read this https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk/2013/03/sorry-truth-virus-anti-semitism-has-infected-british-muslim-community for some insight from Mehdi Hasan, here's an extract:

'It pains me to have to admit this but anti-Semitism isn't just tolerated in some sections of the British Muslim community; it's routine and commonplace. Any Muslims reading this article – if they are honest with themselves – will know instantly what I am referring to. It's our dirty little secret. You could call it the banality of Muslim anti-Semitism.

...

The truth is that the virus of anti-Semitism has infected members of the British Muslim community, both young and old. No, the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict hasn't helped matters. But this goes beyond the Middle East. How else to explain why British Pakistanis are so often the most ardent advocates of anti-Semitic conspiracies, even though there are so few Jews living in Pakistan?

...

It is sheer hypocrisy for Muslims to complain of Islamophobia in every nook and cranny of British public life, to denounce the newspapers for running Muslim-baiting headlines, and yet ignore the rampant anti-Semitism in our own backyard. We cannot credibly fight Islamophobia while making excuses for Judaeophobia.

...

The time has come for us to own up to a rather shameful fact: Muslims are not only the victims of racial and religious prejudice but purveyors of it, too.

In 2011 Baroness Warsi, the then Conservative Party chairman, said that Islamophobia has "passed the dinner-table test" in polite British society. I agree with her, but what she omitted to mention, and what we Muslims must now admit, is that anti-Semitism passed the dinner-table test in polite British Muslim society long ago.'

King’s College London adopts international definition of anti-Semitism

My first thought on reading that headline was 'I bet SOAS don't do the same'. Then I read the first paragraph...

'In a trailblazing move, King's College London (KCL), has adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of anti-Semitism and has set out tough new guidelines in order to ensure the safety and security of students and staff at its campuses. It is thought KCL is the first academic institution in the country to adopt the IHRA definition with the accompanying examples . It was publicly turned down by London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) last March, which rejected it as "too controversial".'

How well I know SOAS. Not for nothing do some people call SOAS the School of Organised Anti Semitism.

What starts with the Jews never ends with the Jews

'Over the last couple of years, after intense provocation, I have taken to these pages a couple of times to express my disgust at the standard of behaviour in the Hampstead and Kilburn Constituency Labour Party.

Almost two years ago to the day, I could not believe that my local party had blocked Jews even debating a motion about anti-Semitism. As we were not allowed to discuss it there, I was glad that the Jewish News allowed me to discuss it here.

Three months ago, I wrote that I had finally had enough. I had stayed silent not once, not twice, but six times. When Hampstead and Kilburn Constituency Labour Party was faced with an anti-Jewish motion for the seventh time in nine meetings, and passed it, I could stay silent no longer.

Some despairing Jewish members are even suggesting that 'we should wear yellow stars to meetings because it would make things simpler' – and they are by no means alone in their horror. I vowed that I would not return to these local meetings until the Party could guarantee me and other Jews a 'safe space'.

My last article got a fair amount of pick up, particularly on social media. I was invited in by Labour Party Headquarters, and then by Jeremy Corbyn's office. I got a lot of sympathy. But when I asked for anything approaching concrete action, none came.

Now, it seems that a lack of discernible action from the Labour Party is allowing a group of seriously nasty people to plumb new depths.

Reports from the last meeting, included a minute's silence for the recently deceased Labour stalwart Tessa Jowell, being heckled by a number of members.

After a vote on Gaza was proposed, and passed, there was an attempt to force those who would not support the motion to identify themselves – expressed in menacing terms. And we know who that was aimed at, don't we?'

More from Phil Rosenberg, Director of Public Affairs at the Board of Deputies of British Jews and is a former local councillor for West Hampstead ward in the London Borough of Camden and the Hampstead and Kilburn constituency, He writes here in a personal capacity, here in The Times of Israel
http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/what-starts-with-jews-never-ends-with-the-jews/

Obviously nothing about this on the institutionally anti Israel BBC who have decided to try to push the antisemitism in the Labour Party story as far away as possible.

BBC News misreporting

The BBC report here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-44310821/tennis-star-struggles-with-yorkshire-accent states:

'Despite initially struggling to understand his accent during a press conference, Alexander Zverev made a promise to one reporter if he won the tournament.'

Watch the video, is that what Alexander Zverov said? No, he said if he made it to the final. Why are the BBC so cavalier with the facts? It's almost as though the BBC don't care about facts.

The Top Five Most Hilarious Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theories per Tablet Magazine

'Last week, the British Labour party suspended Musabbir Ali, a former campaign official, for making anti-Semitic statements on social media. He joined an ignominious cast of characters punished for similar offenses, including a former mayor of London and a current parliament member. But Ali distinguished himself with his particularly creative brand of anti-Semitism.

On Twitter, among other bigoted bromides, he shared a link to a post claiming that the Jews had "financed Oliver Cromwell's overthrowing and beheading of Stuart King Charles I after he refused them control of England's finances." This extraordinary assertion overlooked one minor detail: Jews were expelled from England in 1290 and could not legally return until 1657, years after Cromwell came to power.

Ali's ahistorical absurdity highlighted an underappreciated aspect of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories: In addition to being hateful and ignorant, they are often hilarious.

In that spirit, I'd like to pay tribute to the most ridiculous anti-Jewish fulminations I've come across in my years covering them. These eruptions of inspired idiocy span centuries and continents, from America to Europe to the Middle East. They implicate the Jews and the Jewish state, as well as Monica Lewinsky and the animal kingdom, in their nefarious plots. And they frequently interchange "Zionist" for "Jew" in comically inept attempts to obscure their bigotry.'

There's five more great examples of Jew hatred here at The Tablet
http://www.tabletmag.com/jewish-life-and-religion/202716/anti-semitic-conspiracy-theories and repetition of such antisemitic tropes all over parts of the Internet.

Findings of the ITIC’s examination of the identity of Palestinians killed in the events of the “Great Return March” (March 30, 2018 – May 15, 2018) - The Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center

News that you won't find on the BBC where inconvenient facts that show the Palestinians in a bad light:

'According to the findings of examinations carried out by the ITIC, at least 112 Palestinians were killed during the "Great Return March."[1] In an examination of the names of the fatalities on an individual basis, 93 were identified as terrorist operatives or affiliated with the terrorist organizations, i.e., about 83% of those killed in the "return marches." Most of the fatalities (63) are from Hamas (about 56% of the total killed in all the marches). Fatah, which had 21 fatalities, played a minor role, with no significant impact on the events. The other organizations, including PIJ operatives (four fatalities) refrained from playing a significant role, maybe because of their awareness that this is a Hamas "project." The organizational affiliation of 19 of the fatalities is unknown to the ITIC. It may be assumed that these are Hamas operatives or civilians who do not belong to any organization.

The findings of the ITIC, which indicate the central role of Hamas among the fatalities, are consistent with the figures provided by two senior Hamas figures in the Gaza Strip: Salah Bardawil said that 50 out of the 62 shaheeds who were killed in the events of May 14, 2018 (about 81%) belonged to Hamas. He added that in the events that took place between March 30, 2018 and May 14, 2018, 50% of the fatalities were Hamas operatives. Yahya Sinwar, head of the Hamas Political Bureau in the Gaza Strip, also said that on May 14, Hamas had over 60 shaheeds, and that "yet other 20 wounded are expected to die at any moment" (Al-Mayadeen Channel's YouTube account, May 21, 2018).'

Liege shooting: Two police officers and civilian dead in Belgium and BBC News can deny reality no longer

Following this morning's stupidity, the BBC finally have to accept the inevitable http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-44289404

'A man has shot dead two female police officers and a civilian in the eastern Belgian city of Liège.

The gunman also took a female cleaner hostage at a school before being killed by police. Two other police officers were also injured.

The man's motive is not yet clear but the incident is being treated as terrorism.

Police sources quoted in local media said the man was heard shouting "Allahu Akbar" ("God is greatest" in Arabic).'

Who'd have thought...

Liege shooting: Two police and passer-by dead in Belgium but there's no discernible motive per the police, prosecuters and BBC News

This BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-44289404 into the recent shooting in Liege is quite incredible:

'A man has shot dead two police officers and a passer-by in the centre of the eastern Belgian city of Liège before being killed himself.

...

Details are still emerging and there is no indication yet as to the man's motive.

"We don't know anything yet," a spokesperson for the Liege prosecutor's office told the AFP news agency.

...

Police sources quoted in local media said the man was heard shouting Allahu Akbar ("God is greatest" in Arabic).'

So police sources said the man was heard shouting "Allahu Akbar" but apparently there is still no indication as to the man's motive.

This is like some sort of sick parody.

What makes a woman? New documentary about Munroe Bergdorf seeks answers, per Boing Boing who clearly have a bias

This line from this Boing Boing report on

'In 2017, Bergdorf was the subject of sustained online attacks after she was named a spokesmodel for L'Oreal, and internet trolls took issue with her social media comments about race and gender. She was eventually sacked.'

Let that sink in: 'internet trolls took issue with her social media comments about race and gender. She was eventually sacked.'

To remind you of what Munroe Bergdorf said that caused 'Internet trolls' to take issue:

"Honestly I don't have energy to talk about the racial violence of white people any more. Yes ALL white people."

Probably best not to repeat what Bergdorf actually said, as it is rather offensive. Well best not to repeat if you want to engender sympathy for the person who made these remarks in the first place.

On a completely unrelated matter, does anyone know where Jeremy Corbyn was last night?

Corbyn was ‘too stupid’ to tackle Labour Party anti-Semitism per NOT the BBC

'Jeremy Corbyn was 'too unemotional or too stupid' to understand claims that he has failed to combat anti-Semitism in the Labour Party, it has been claimed.

The Labour leader is described as 'bored, uninterested and condescending' in a leaked account of his meeting with Jewish leaders last month to discuss the issue.

It suggests he lacks the 'emotional or intellectual ability' to comprehend their demands for more action to tackle the problem.

By contrast, he sprang into life with a 'convulsion' when told that his support for a 'two state solution' in the rift between Israel and Palestine meant he was a 'Zionist'.'

More here in The Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5775425/Corbyn-stupid-tackle-Labour-Party-anti-Semitism-meeting-Jewish-leaders.html but obviously not on the BBC where supporting the Labour Party, never mind what, is more important than protecting Jews from antisemitic sentiment in that Labour Party.

Mississauga explosion: Suspects 'detonate bomb' in restaurant per BBC News

One line in the BBC's report on the explosion in Canada here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-44248453 caught my eye:

'Police issued CCTV footage of the two suspects, describing them both as men around 5ft 10 in height with light or fair skin, and appealing for help identifying them.'

"light or fair skin", I don't recall the BBC reporting physical descriptions when the suspects are dark skinned or similar. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think not.

Alexa listened to a couple's conversation and sent it to the husband's employee without permission

This is scary news but hardly surprising:

'A couple in Portland is accusing Alexa of doing exactly what many people have feared she might do. They say she listened in on a conversation and sent it to a random contact of theirs – one of her husband's employees.

The woman, whose name is Danielle but whose last name hasn't been disclosed, says that two weeks ago she got a call from her husband's employee, who said, "Unplug your Alexa devices right now. You're being hacked."

According to KIRO-7 in Seattle:

"We unplugged all of them and he proceeded to tell us that he had received audio files of recordings from inside our house," she said. "At first, my husband was, like, 'no you didn't!' And the (recipient of the message) said 'You sat there talking about hardwood floors.' And we said, 'oh gosh, you really did hear us.'"

Danielle listened to the conversation when it was sent back to her, and she couldn't believe someone 176 miles away heard it too.

"I felt invaded," she said. "A total privacy invasion. Immediately I said, 'I'm never plugging that device in again, because I can't trust it.'"

Danielle says an Amazon engineer investigated.

"They said 'our engineers went through your logs, and they saw exactly what you told us, they saw exactly what you said happened, and we're sorry.' He apologized like 15 times in a matter of 30 minutes and he said we really appreciate you bringing this to our attention, this is something we need to fix!"'

Why anyone would have one of these potential spies in the house I have no idea.

Jack Johnson: Trump pardons black heavyweight champ per BBC News

The BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-4424468 that:

'US President Donald Trump has pardoned boxing's first black heavyweight champ, who was convicted in 1913 of taking his white girlfriend across state lines.'

So not pardoned by the USA's first black President, Barack Hussein Obama, but by the racist Donald Trump. Isn't it fun when reality puts the lie to the BBC and let's agreed narrative!

Jeremy Corbyn had an 'unfair educational advantage' and was still a scholastic failure

Having a private education is often described by those on the left as having an unfair advantage, it's one of the arguments regularly made against grammar schools.

It's interesting to note that the Labour Party leader, Jeremy Corbyn, went to an independent Prep school, Castle House School, and then Adam's Grammar School. So with these educational advantages Jeremy Corbyn must have achieved higher A-Level results than otherwise and gone onto a good university. Actually no; Jeremy Corbyn left school with a paltry two E-grade A-Levels and did not go on to university.

Maybe having a private education doesn't bestow such an advantage on those who receive one, or maybe Jeremy Corbyn was just too thick to be able to take advantage of the superior education that he was privileged to receive.

If the Labour Party somehow managed to win the next General Election would Jeremy Corbyn be the least well educated Prime Minister of the United Kingdom?

Ken Livingstone 'was told what to say about Zionism row by Corbyn's team' - The Jewish Chronicle

Now this is fascinating...

'Ken Livingstone told the disciplinary hearing that originally investigated his comments about Hitler and Zionism he was advised on what to say in media interviews by senior figures in Jeremy Corbyn's office.

A transcript, obtained from the March 2017 probe into the former London Mayor's remarks, confirms he claimed he was frequently telephoned by Seumas Milne or Simon Fletcher with instructions on what he should say in front of the television cameras.

Mr Livingstone also insisted that the pair would offer to put out tweets in Mr Livingstone's name.

During his cross examination at the disciplinary hearing, Mr Livingstone claimed: "When there was a big row blow up, I'd be overwhelmed.

"There'd be half a dozen camera crews outside, the phone would go all the time, and I'd talk to either Seamus Milne, his press officer or Simon Fletcher about what do you want me to say?'"

He added: "Sometimes they'd phone and tell me what they wanted me to say, or they'd say, 'We put out a tweet in your name'."

The transcript was obtained by LBC from the three day hearing, which took place after Mr Livingstone made his remarks about Hitler and Zionism during a BBC Radio London interview in April 2016.

Mr Livingstone announced he was resigning from Labour on Monday, ahead of a new disciplinary hearing by the party's ruling body.'

Mite here in the JC https://www.thejc.com/news/uk-news/ken-livingstone-zionism-hitler-labour-seamus-milne-simon-fletcher-1.464424  but not a word on the BBC for whom anything, even a government lead by the likes of Corbyn, Milne etc is better than a Conservative government.

I have a very, very, very bad feeling about the future of this country.

I have almost as bad a feeling about the plans the Labour Party and its propaganda arm, the BBC, have for this country's future.

'Butchered like a joint of meat': Jurors gasp as they are shown footage of Lee Rigby murder - Down the memory hole at the BBC of course

Today is the fifth anniversary of the horrific murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby by two Islamists. I have yet to spot the BBC's coverage of this anniversary.

In case they have forgotten here's what happened:

'The final moments of Fusilier Lee Rigby's life are captured in a series of CCTV images - some still, others moving, all apparently mundane. Wearing a "Help for Heroes" hoodie with a camouflage bag slung over his shoulder, he is filmed as he heads up the escalator at his local station. He is then pictured passing through the ticket barrier and starting his walk home to Woolwich Barracks. One shot shows him passing the Great Harry pub; two more the council offices and the library.

Then he is caught on film, a small figure in the distance walking along Artillery Place. From the footage it is clear he glances at the Vauxhall Tigra coming his way as he crosses the road. But he had turned his back by the time it veers over the central line and accelerates towards him. The 25-year-old is thrown on to the bonnet; the car then disappears off-screen.

In a split second the horrifying details of Lee Rigby's death were revealed at the Old Bailey yesterday, leaving the courtroom in silence.

The car was just the beginning. Like a "butcher attacking a joint of meat", Michael Adebolajo, 28, and Michael Adebowale, 22, then set about the unconscious man with a cleaver and knives in a "serious and almost successful" attempt to saw off his head, Richard Whittam QC, prosecuting, told the jury.

The attack is hidden from the sight of the camera fixed to the outside of a shop. But two small figures soon come back into shot, dragging the body of the dead 25-year-old into the road where he is dumped as a double-decker bus drives past. "They wanted the members of the public present to see the consequence of what can only be described as their barbarous acts," said Mr Whittam. "They had committed, you may think, a cowardly and callous murder by deliberately attacking an unarmed man in civilian clothes from behind using a vehicle as a weapon. Then they murdered him and mutilated his body with that meat cleaver and knives."

The court was told that Mr Adebolajo and Mr Adebowale killed the soldier in retaliation for the British military presence in Muslim countries.'

More here at The Independent https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/lee-rigby-murder-trial-hears-of-cowardly-callous-and-barbarous-attack-8972608.html but not on the BBC where protecting the' Muslim community' from Islamophobia is more important than remembering a British soldier savagely killed by Islamists on the streets of London.

Former Scottish Labour leader Jim Murphy says he is 'disgusted' by party's failure to tackle anti-Semitism

'Former Scottish Labour leader Jim Murphy says he is 'disgusted' by party's failure to tackle anti-Semitism

A former Labour Cabinet minister has spoken of his "disgust" at the party's failure to tackle its anti-Semitism problem

....

Jim Murphy stood down as Scottish Labour leader after losing his Westminster seat.

Jim Murphy said Labour had "no right" to ask Jewish voters for their support until it properly deals with the issue.

...

Speaking publicly for the first time since leaving the political frontline, he said: "The way in which anti-Semitism has been normalised in the darker recesses of the Labour party absolutely disgusts me. It's the one thing above all else that makes me angry about Jeremy Corbyn's leadership.

"Jewish minorities in Britain should know that the established parties will stand by them at times of difficulty and not be part of the problem. There isn't a proper adjective to capture how angry I am about it."

...

Mr Murphy, who now works as an adviser to Tony Blair, said Jeremy Corbyn's election as Labour leader had "given confidence" to left-wing anti-Semites.

"It's not good enough to be platitudinous," he said. "Labour has no right to ask for the votes of Jewish voters if it continues to harbour foul-mouthed anti-Semites of the sort I didn't think existed in the Labour party."'

Jeremy Corbyn laughs with man who 'left Jewish MP Ruth Smeeth in tears' per Metro News in 2016

Because I haven't forgotten even if the BBC would rather we all did.

'Jeremy Corbyn can be seen laughing and joking with the man who berated Labour MP Ruth Smeeth just moments before.

Labour Party activist, Marc Wadsworth, attacked Jewish MP Ms Smeeth by name at the launch of a report into anti-Semitism yesterday.

She walked out of the conference 'in tears' following the accusation that she was 'colluding with the media'.'

That lovely Mr Corbyn? That doughty opponent of anti-Semitism, Mr Corbyn?

Top Dem Pollster: ‘Very Real Risk’ Millennials Won’t Turn Out for Left in ’18 per Breitbart

Here's some American polling that the BBC won't be reporting upon. Breitbart have this piece http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/05/19/top-dem-pollster-very-real-risk-millennials-wont-turn-out-for-left-in-18/ and here's an extract:

'Stanley Greenberg, one of the top Democratic pollsters, warned that there is a "very real risk" that young voters will not turn out for Democrats in the 2018 midterm elections.

Greenberg's remarks to the Atlantic's Ron Brownstein this week underscores how the left is getting more worried that the so-called "blue wave" they once took for granted may not materialize in November.

...

A recent CNN midterm poll, for instance, found that Democrats only have a three-point advantage over Republicans, as the percentage of Americans who think things are going "well" in America is at its highest since 2007.

A recent Reuters poll also found that support for Democrats among millennials aged 18 to 34 "slipped by about 9 percentage points over the past two years." In addition, the extensive Reuters survey found that millennials are increasingly saying that "the Republican Party is a better steward of the economy."

Reuters interviewed "Terry Hood, 34, an African-American who works at a Dollar General store in Baton Rouge."

Hood told the outlet that though he voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, he was open to voting for a Republican for Congress in the midterms "because he believes the party is making it easier to find jobs and he applauds the recent Republican-led tax cut."

"It sounds strange to me to say this about the Republicans, but they're helping with even the small things," Hood told Reuters. "They're taking less taxes out of my paycheck. I notice that."'

That's not on message so the BBC will ignore it and so be all shocked, again, if the mid-term results go against them.

Energy poverty and the home truths MPs would rather ignore per The Conservative Woman

This is a fascinating article https://www.conservativewoman.co.uk/energy-poverty-and-the-home-truths-mps-would-rather-ignore/ on a subject that the BBC won't touch with a bargepole.

Here's a couple of long extracts:
'Why has the Government still not formally responded to the independent review that it commissioned into the cost of energy? Perhaps its findings are too damning. Staggeringly, the review found that the government has wasted the best part of £100billion on the decarbonisation of the power sector.

That this is not more widely known is thanks to the cosy consensus that exists in the British media around the need for renewables, which means that their effectiveness, or value for money, is ignored. The real victims of this wastefulness are those struggling in energy poverty, who have paid far too much for their electricity as a result.

Their money went straight on to the profit margins of renewable energy companies who had claimed that only vast subsidies would make them viable. Now they say that those subsidies actually resulted in falling prices. What the review reveals is that they took the civil servants and politicians for a ride, ordinary people paid the price, and they will continue to do so if nothing is done.

...

To judge them by their actions, these MPs seem to have little concern for reducing energy costs for the most vulnerable. They prefer to indulge in meaningless platitudes about climate change that often have no basis in science, and compound this error by repeatedly failing to acknowledge the significant impact that their policies are having on energy prices and living standards.

A notable exception is the Labour member for Blackley and Broughton, Graham Stringer, who called a Westminster Hall debate on Helm's review. While he and a small number of concerned MPs pleaded on behalf of those affected by energy poverty, the climate change minister, Claire Perry, sat fiddling with her phone, only to give a tin-eared response celebrating Britain's phase-out of coal, and wishing we could persuade even poorer countries to give up coal too. To have some humility when you're costing real people's jobs and livelihoods would be appropriate, however noble you think the cause may be.

The debate was interesting nonetheless, because of what it revealed: that the extortionately expensive decarbonisation of the power sector is only a taste of what is to come. As Conservative MP James Heappey rather sinisterly put it during the Westminster Hall debate:

'It will be very challenging when we have to start telling people that they need to reduce their consumption of milk, cheese, and everything else in the interest of decarbonisation, but that conversation is surely coming.'

This is the simple logic of the Climate Change Act: once the power sector has been decarbonised, politicians will have to find multifarious new and extreme ways to 'save the planet', encroaching further and further into our lives. The solution is worse than the problem, and free thinkers should resist it every step of the way.

Helm's review, whether you agree with it or not, is as Peter Lilley describes: 'lucid, logically coherent, original and devastating . . . an outstanding contribution to policymaking'.

At the very least, it provides a sensible way forward in the unfortunate world of the Climate Change Act. Just as importantly, it is a vital corrective to the narrative that free markets are to blame for high energy prices. 'No!' this report shouts. Complex state interference has squandered billions, and it is through more competition, not less, that we can finally find a way out of this mess.'

Saudi Arabia has strict laws requiring women to seek male permission for various decisions and actions.

Included in this BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-44178078 on the Saudi Arabian regime's latest anti freedom act is this line:

'Saudi Arabia has strict laws requiring women to seek male permission for various decisions and actions.'

Oddly the usual suspects who scream about Israel's supposed human rights abuses, mostly imaginary, are not so worried by the real abuses of the Saudi regime. One law for the only Jewish majority country and another one for the leading Sunni Muslim country?

MH370 Mystery: 'Premeditated Murder' Planned By Flight's Pilot, Experts Claim

Well isn't this interesting:

'Aviation experts believe they have unraveled the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370. During Sunday's episode of Australian current affairs program 60 Minutes, a panel of experts claimed the plane's pilot Captain Zaharie Amad Shah deliberately crashed the jet in the Indian Ocean as part of his "murder-suicide" plan.

According to Larry Vance, a former senior investigator with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, Zaharie executed a careful series of maneuvers across Thailand and Malaysia to evade detection.

The pilot "was killing himself" and took the plane to the most remote spot he could in the southern Indian Ocean so it would "disappear," experts said. The panel also included renowned aviation safety expert Captain John Cox and Martin Dolan, who was Chief Commissioner of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau when Flight MH370 vanished on March 8, 2014.

"This was planned, this was deliberate, and it was done over an extended period of time," Dolan said.

Dolan and the experts' claims came just days after John Dawson, a lawyer who represented nine families from MH370 and MH17, told News Corp Australia: "In MH370, you have the pilot flying between Malaysia and Beijing who turns back the aircraft. The evidence is so heavily weighted to involvement by one of the aircrew taking this aircraft down... That aircraft has probably depressurized, the people died of asphyxiation, it was premeditated murder."'

More here http://www.ibtimes.com/mh370-mystery-premeditated-murder-planned-flights-pilot-experts-claim-2680608 but not on the BBC where reporting such' Experts' might raise some inconvenient questions.

Senior Hamas figure says 50 of 62 Gaza border deaths were its own members per The Jewish Chronicle

'A senior Hamas member has claimed 50 members of the terror organisation were among those killed during Monday's protests on the Gaza border.

Salah al-Bardawil, one of the Islamist group's leaders, told Palestinian Radio on Wednesday: "In the last round of confrontations 62 people were martyred, 50 of them were Hamas."'

More here at the JC https://www.thejc.com/news/world/SENIOR-HAMAS-FIGURE-ADMITS-MAJORITY-OF-GAZA-BORDER-DEATHS-WERE-TERROR-GROUP-MEMBERS-1.464210 but likely not on the institutionally anti Israel BBC where facts are just not as interesting as vilifiying Israel and thus increasing hatred of Jews.

Schools are removing analogue clocks from exam halls as teenagers 'cannot tell the time' - File under #ffs

'Schools are removing analogue clocks from examination halls because teenagers are unable to tell the time, a head teachers' union has said.

Teachers are now installing digital devices after pupils sitting their GCSE and A-level exams complained that they were struggling to read the correct time on an analogue clock.

Malcolm Trobe, deputy general secretary at the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), said youngsters have become accustomed to using digital devices.

"The current generation aren't as good at reading the traditional clock face as older generations," he told The Telegraph.

"They are used to seeing a digital representation of time on their phone, on their computer. Nearly everything they've got is digital so youngsters are just exposed to time being given digitally everywhere."'

May I say that if the student can't tell the time on an analogue clock then they really shouldn't be sitting their GCSE or A levels. Seriously, #ffs.

More pandering to idiot children everywhere...

The BBC's headline reporting of Israel protecting its borders from Gazan attack compared to the BBC's lack of interest in Saudi Arabia's ongoing attacks on Yemen

The BBC's institutional anti Israel stance is clear today as they headline the news from the Israel / Gaza border. Every civilian death is a crime, etc. etc.

Oddly I can't even recall the BBC's coverage of this attack by Saudi Arabia on Yemen:

'At least 20 people including the bride were killed when an air strike by the Saudi-led coalition hit a wedding party in northern Yemen, health officials have said.

The dead were mostly women and children gathered in a tent set up for the wedding in the Bani Qayis district, according to Khaled al-Nadhri, the leading health official in the north-western Hajjah province.'

Reporting from The Independent https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/yemen-airstrike-wedding-party-killed-injured-bani-qayis-saudi-coalition-latest-updates-a8317826.html who are no friends of Israel.

Why the disparity in levels of reporting?

Institutional anti Israel sentiment - obviously.

Fear of criticising the Saudi regime - possibly.

Unwillingness to upset the Sunni Muslim population of the UK - possibly.

Anti semitism - possibly.

Teenage girl 'chatted about killing Obama'

One line in this BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-44109760 on the plot to kill Barack Hussein Obama caught my eye as so BBC:

'Ms Boular said Hussain, a Briton from Coventry, had approached her on Instagram.'

You have to admire the BBC's persistence.

London cops are using an unregulated, 98% inaccurate facial recognition tech per Boing Boing

Kinnock denies his Brussels pension depends on loyalty to the EU

The line that people due an EU pension risk losing that pension if they oppose the EU is one that is commonly heard. So I was interested to read this article https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/politics/kinnock-denies-brussels-pension-depends-12631902 which reports:

'Lord Kinnock has dismissed as "rubbish" claims that his pension as a former European Union Commissioner depends on his loyalty to the EU.

The pro-Brexit campaign group Change Britain argues that ex-commissioners including Lord Kinnock and Lord Mandelson who are now in the House of Lords "face losing these pensions following Brexit, and therefore have a vested interest in frustrating the process of leaving the EU".

...

"The idea that we have any obligations of deference to the EU because we receive pensions is a myth that has no substance in reality. Neither I, nor I'm sure my colleagues, would ever accept such a limit on our freedom of expression and there has never been any legal or political requirement that we should.'

'Lord Mandelson must remain loyal to EU to guarantee pension

Critics say the requirement to remain loyal to his former employer means the Business Secretary could be unable to stand up for British interests in disputes with Brussels.

...

However, European Union rules show that if he speaks out against Europe as a former Commissioner he could be stripped of his pension altogether.

Documents seen by campaigners show that Lord Mandelson and other Commissioners have to abide by certain obligations "both during and after their term of office".

One of these obligations as a staff member of the Commission is to maintain a "duty of loyalty to the Communities".

The rules also note that "an official has the right to freedom of expression, with due respect to the principles of loyalty and impartiality".

If they fail to demonstrate loyalty to the EU, Lord Mandelson can be "deprived of his right to a pension or other benefits", the rules say.

...

Matthew Elliott, the alliance's chief executive, added: "It is wrong that Peter Mandelson is effectively being paid to support the Euro and the Lisbon Treaty.

"His EU pension is conditional on continuing to support to EU integration, which is not what the public wants.

"This financial interest means that his loyalties are to Brussels, not Britain. He must declare the conflict of interest and either relinquish his EU pay cheques or resign as a minister."'

A disagreement on facts that could be easily resolved if the regulations re payment of EU pensions were available to check. Maybe the BBC could fact check these two contradictory statements.

There I would leave this report but for spotting this at the end of the Telegraph article:

'A spokesman for Lord Mandelson said with most pension providers there were "undertakings that don't bring the organisation paying the pension into disrepute".

He added: "Peter Mandelson does not see a contradiction between British patriotism and EU loyalty.

"He has always had a clear view of British interests and how they are secured by our EU membership."'

I'll repeat the key paragraph:

'A spokesman for Lord Mandelson said with most pension providers there were "undertakings that don't bring the organisation paying the pension into disrepute".'

So are Peter Mandelson and his spokesman disagreeing with each other? It seems that his spokesman is agreeing, in principle, with The Telegraph.

Man in custody after SuRie stage invasion per BBC News

The BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/entertainment-arts-44096520/eurovision-uk-s-surie-carries-on-after-stage-invasion on the stage invasion during the British entrant's song at last night's Eurovision is quite brief, oddly brief. So I had a quick to look at a less biased media source, Guido is reporting https://order-order.com/2018/05/12/eurovision-stage-invader-corbynista/ that:

'The stage invader who interrupted the UK's act at the Eurovision Song Contest tonight is a Corbyn-backing, Labour-supporting veteran protester who endorsed Jezza at the general election, Guido can reveal. Dr ACactivism, also known as A.C., is named in reports as the man who tonight rushed the stage and grabbed Brit singer SuRie's mic. He previously disrupted the National Television Awards and talent show The Voice. '

If that's true then you can see why the BBC don't want that to be known by the British public.

Corbyn must change Brexit stance - Kinnock

The BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-44092538 Neil Kinnock's pro EU stance:

'Jeremy Corbyn will commit "a serious evasion of duty" if he does not change his stance on Brexit, former Labour leader Lord Kinnock has said.

The peer told the Independent that Labour should endorse the UK staying in the European Economic Area (EEA) or risk "sacrificing thousands" of jobs.

Staying in the EEA would mean the UK retained key aspects of the single market after leaving the EU.'

Oddly the BBC find no space to report the conditions under which Neil Kinnock, his wife and other family members will receive their EU pensions.

News Quiz / Jeremy Hardy - f**k off right off. A sweary post because that's all I have to say

Three minutes of Jeremy Hardy on The News Quiz and I hit the off button (well closed the app to be exact). The anti Israel bile was as expected but still made me feel sick. His line about Iran not recognising Israel being odd as it looks just like Palestine, give or take... How f***ing amusing, so can we take it that he's a 'from the river to the sea' kind of c**t? Seriously Jeremy Hardy and Jeremy Corbyn are seriously p***ing me off so much right now.

The hatred towards Israel cannot be be based on facts but on the sort of history based on prejudice and a blind adherence to group think about 'imperialism' and 'Zionism'.

In summary f**k off Jeremy Hardy, f**k right off.

For facts not hatred about the history of Israel and the 'Palestinians' take a read of this https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/05/israel_at_70_time_to_retire_the_false_palestinian_narrative.html here's a long extract:

'"In  November 1947 the United Nations voted to approve a partition plan that would have created a Jewish-majority state and an Arab-majority state in historic Palestine, and shared Jerusalem between the two parties. The Jews accepted the partition plan, and the results of the UN vote, though it provided insecure borders in a fragmented new state.  [...] The Arabs had never accepted the idea of a Jewish-majority state in any part of historic Palestine, and began a campaign of violence against the Zionists the very night the resolution was passed.

[...] In essence, the Arabs had fought Zionism for half a century, and were determined to deal t he Jewish state a knockout blow as soon the British left in May 1948.

"Five Arab nations attacked Israel the day it became a new nation,  assisting the Arabs in Palestine in their effort to destroy Israel.  Despite enormous advantages in armed men, planes, tanks, and other weaponry, the Arabs were unsuccessful. Israel survived the onslaught, and defeated the Arab armies , creating new borders for the Jewish state, as well as for Jordan and Egypt. At the end of the war, Jordan held Judea and Samaria (also known as the West Bank) and the eastern part of Jerusalem, including the old city, and expelled Jews who had lived there for thousands of years. Egypt  captured Gaza in the war. At no point did Egypt and Jordan attempt to create a new Arab state of Palestine with the territories they had picked up in the war.  Instead Jordan annexed the West Bank, a seizure recognized by only two nations, and Egypt held Gaza as a territory.

During the war, there were many people displaced on both sides.  More than half a million Arabs became refugees. Most of them had left their towns as instructed by invading  Arab armies to get out of the way of the coming planned slaughter of the Jews. Tens of thousands had left even before the UN partition resolution. Some fled a war zone, where there was very close fighting, a sensible thing to do. In some cases, the Israeli forces consolidated territorial corridors, particularly to Jerusalem.  The Arabs also spread stories of civilian killings, which frightened many Arab residents to leave their towns, even though the stories were false or greatly exaggerated.

After the war, the Arabs demanded that the partition borders be restored, and all the refugees be allowed to return.  [...]
The Syrian Prime Minister during the war of 1948-1949, Haled Al Azm, wrote in his memoirs in 1973:

"Since 1948 we have been demanding the return of the refugees to their homes. But we ourselves are the ones who encouraged them to leave. Only a few months separated our call for them to leave and our appeal to the United Nations to resolve on their return."

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas wrote in 1976:

"The Arab armies entered Palestine to protect the Palestinians from the Zionist tyranny but, instead, they abandoned them, forced them to emigrate, and threw them into prisons similar to the ghettoes in which the Jews used to live."
This is the real tragedy of the Palestinian Arabs.  Those who left their homes wound up not far from home, in Arab countries which had supported their cause during the war. They were among other Arabs, who spoke the same language, had the same culture, and the same religion.  No refugee population should have had it easier, given that Arabs wound up among their own people.  But the Arab countries refused to allow normal resettlement, as usually occurs with refugees, instead relegating many refugees to squalid camps, in which their families have lived now for 3 or 4 generations.  Many Palestinians have chosen to remain in these camps dreaming of a return to Israel, clanging old keys from 70 years back, or been threatened if they wanted to leave.  But how can you "return" to a place where you have never lived or even visited? The truth of the matter is that there may be no more than 25,000 refugees remaining alive from the 1948 war. The rest are descendants -- children, grandchildren even great-grandchildren of original refugees, none of whom have been in Israel or left it.

All the refugee populations in the world come under the jurisdiction of a single UN agency, except for the Palestinians. All other refugees do not pass refugee status on to descendants, only the refugees themselves are counted as such. Only the Palestinians are allowed to count all descendants as refugees, and many have chosen to live off their collective grievance, rather than move on with their lives.

Sephardic Jews,  more than 800,000 of whom were expelled or encouraged to leave Arab countries in the years after the creation of Israel, provide a far better and more humane approach for dealing with refugees. Israel absorbed more than 70 percent of these refugees (France and the United States took many others) and within a few short years, had moved them out of temporary housing and allowed them to start new lives in Israel.  I know because my father and his 4 brothers and parents left all of their lives and assets behind when they fled from Iraq and they made themselves a new life in Israel.

Today there are 6.6 million Jews in Israel, and 1.8 million Arabs, more than 11 times as many Arabs as resided within the borders of Israel at the end of the fighting in 1949. So much for the absurd notion of ethnic cleansing.  [...]
The demand for a right of return for millions of Palestinians,  including all the descendants of refugees, signals one enduring Palestinian goal -- to destroy the state of Israel, by overwhelming it with Arabs from abroad.  The Palestinians still do not accept a two-state solution,  just as they refused the partition in 1948, but demand a single state they can dominate.

Israel will not commit national suicide to endorse a false narrative of what happened 70 years back.'

Thanks to the ever wonderful http://isthebbcbiased.blogspot.co.uk/2018/05/escalating-bias.html for that recent spot, I knew it would come in useful.

The contrast between calm facts and the bile masquerading as humour from such as Jeremy Hardy is stark.

Of course whilst Jeremy Hardy is given free reign to push his opposition to Israel again and again, I doubt that Aviv Ezra will be granted a chance to put the case for Israel on the institutionally anti Israel BBC.

Dashcam captures 'sleeping' driver crash per BBC News who display #EverydaySexism

This BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-northamptonshire-44088926/a14-dashcam-captures-sleeping-driver-crash exhibits everyday sexism. Why does it twice denote the sex of the driver? How is that relevant? If it had been a women driver would the BBC have described that or considered that irrelevant?

Build all navy ships in UK, says Corbyn ahead of Govan visit per BBC News

The BBC faithfully report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-44074894 on Jeremy Corbyn's latest promises. No context is allowed in the report, no contrary facts either.

Thankfully Guido Fawkes has some analysis:

'Veterans for Britain and UKIP point out that Corbyn's plans are not possible because of the EU's Defence Directive. David Banks from Veterans for Britain explains:

"Although Mr Corbyn will cite the 'defence exemption' (Article 346 TEU), this does not provide a general exemption from international or EU-wide tendering for government defence contracts. The exemption is only for the most sensitive items of manufacture where an EU-wide tender would put national security interests at risk. The EU tightened these rules further in 2016. The only way to achieve what Mr Corbyn is (rightly) demanding is to leave the EU Defence Directive. The directive stifles UK options in procurement, jobs and strategic capability."

UKIP Defence Spokesman Mike Hookem adds:

"While I agree these RFA ships should be built in the UK; Article 346 of the Treaties demand that military procurement contracts are open to tender across the EU. While there is an exception clause, only the most sensitive items can be guarded for domestic contracts. RFA ships are none front line vessels and therefore, do not qualify as sensitive. Labour either don't understand EU rules on military procurement contracts or are deliberately trying to mislead the public."'

Why are the BBC not reporting such contrary opinion? Apart from that they are trying to increase Labour Party votes.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to visit UK this weekend

Sky News report https://news.sky.com/story/turkish-president-recep-tayyip-erdogan-to-visit-uk-this-weekend-11365309 that the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is to visit the UK this weekend. Sky News manage to include in their report that:

'He has been widely accused of repressing perceived opponents in the press, academia and judiciary.'

I see no similar report on the BBC.

I wonder how many of the protestors who habitually oppose visits from Israeli politicians or indeed President Donald Trump will oppose the visit of this unpleasant leader of an unpleasant regime?

Whitehall's Olly Robbins 'held back key advice' on tech for Irish border per The Sun

If this Sun report https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/6259758/olly-robbins-max-fac-irish-border-customs-partnership/ is true then Olly Robbins should be looking for another job after the weekend, unless he 'held back key advice' because he was told to by the PM.

'Whitehall Brexit adviser Olly Robbins 'held back key advice' on tech that could solve the Irish border issue

The Whitehall Brexit guru only talked up the Customs Partnership plan when he was expected to make a strong case for Max Fac

...

Seething Brexiteer Cabinet Ministers are convinced Theresa May's pro-EU aide could have made a stronger case for the hi-tech "maximum facilitation" customs option at the crunch meeting of the Brexit "war cabinet" last week.

Olly Robbins has been accused of holding back key evidence for Max Fac
Olly Robbins has been accused of holding back key evidence for Max Fac
The high-flying civil servant talked the 11 strong committee through the merits of the No10's previously  preferred complex Custom Partnership over the option backed by Boris Johnson.

Mr Robbins said "Max Fac" would mean more red tape for 145,000 companies trading with the EU.

But Whitehall sources told The Sun that Liam Fox and David Davis both believe more more options about "Max Fac" could have been included in the briefing.'

The remainers are playing dirty, is Olly Robbins one of them? Is the PM?

Former BBC and ITV chairman Michael Grade sees ‘no credible grounds’ to block Fox bid to takeover Sky per Press Gazette

This Press Gazette report http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/former-bbc-and-itv-chairman-michael-grade-sees-no-credible-grounds-to-block-fox-bid-to-takeover-sky/ is interesting and because of Michael Grace's not totally anti Rupert Murdoch opinion, will not be reported by the institutionally anti any news group large enough to oppose their own biased broadcasting.

'Former BBC and ITV chairman Michael Grade has said he sees "no credible grounds" for 21st Century Fox's £11.7bn Sky takeover bid being blocked.

In a letter to the Competition and Markets Authority, Grade outlined his assessment of the proposed purchase of Sky by Fox, who is bidding for the 31 per cent of the company it does not already own.

Grade, who has 45 years' experience in the media industry, said in the letter: "On current evidence, I see no credible grounds remaining on which this transaction could be prohibited."

Over his career, Grade has also served as chief executive of Channel 4. Since 2011 he has sat in the House of Lords as a Conservative life peer, where he claims to "keep an eye" on media plurality.

...

He also said Fox's pledge to fund Sky's "unprofitable news channel" for up to 15 years was "extraordinary" and "safeguards future plurality to an extent that would otherwise be impossible".

The UK's competition watchdog is still investigating the takeover deal on media plurality grounds. It has provisionally said the deal is not in the public interest, but has yet to make a final ruling on it.

It said the takeover could hand the Murdoch Family Trust, which owns Fox and News Corp (ultimate owners of the Sun and Times newspapers) "too much control over news providers in the UK".

...

Grade's other reasons for supporting the buyout include the fact that Fox has proposed legally separate Sky news from the rest of Sky, giving the broadcaster a fully independent board that he said would be governed by "rigorous transparency obligations". '

Every time I read something like this:

'It said the takeover could hand the Murdoch Family Trust, which owns Fox and News Corp (ultimate owners of the Sun and Times newspapers) "too much control over news providers in the UK".'

I feel like screaming - what about the BBC's control over news in the UK? Far more people rely on the hideously biased BBC for their news than the Sun, Times etc.

Communist Party of Britain: No Difference Between Us and Jez per Guido Fawkes

Guido Fawkes has this shocking, but not surprising, news https://order-order.com/2018/05/11/communist-party-of-britain-no-difference-between-us-and-corbyn/ that:

'The FT has been given access to a Communist Party of Britain meeting and spoken to its leader Robert Griffiths, who says there are "no major differences on immediate issues" between his party and Corbyn's Labour. Griffiths said that among Corbyn's top team – which includes former communist Andrew Murray – there is overlap on Brexit and leaving NATO. He suggested communists are now working to build the Corbyn movement rather than develop their own cadres. Griffiths also said "a lot" of communists joined Labour to back Jez at the time of Corbyn's first leadership election…

The reds think Jezza is delivering their manifesto 'Britain's Road to Socialism', which they say is turning out to be a "good guide" to the current direction of the left. Earlier this year Guido reported on a joint meeting between Labour and the CPB. Last year the party declined to stand candidates against Labour at the general election for the first time in decades. Don't say you weren't warned…'

Not surprising news but also something that should be more widely known. As the acting propaganda arm of the Labour Party, the BBC will not report this news. Protecting the British people from the truth about Jeremy Corbyn and his associates is hard to work but rewarding for the fellow travellers at the BBC.

UK apology over Libyan dissident rendition per BBC News

The BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-44070304 on the UK apology to Abdul Hakim Belhaj runs thus:

'The UK government has apologised to Libyan Abdul Hakim Belhaj and his wife, Fatima Boudchar, who say an MI6 tip-off led to their capture and his torture by Colonel Gaddafi's forces.

Attorney General Jeremy Wright said the settlement with the couple included a £500,000 payment to Ms Boudchar.

Mr Belhaj says MI6 helped the US kidnap him in Thailand in 2004 to return him and his wife to Libya.

UK actions had contributed to the couple's capture, Mr Wright said.'

No mention of what government was in power at the time, but that would be the Labour Party and the BBC don't like criticising the Labour Party's record.

Labour NEC Make Jewish Members Stand Outside Room During Anti-Semitism Meeting per Guido Fawkes

'Labour: a party with no room for Jews…'

Guido Fawkes has the story https://order-order.com/2018/05/08/labour-nec-make-jewish-members-stand-outside-room-anti-semitism-meeting/ don't expect any coverage on the Labour Party's propaganda arm aka the BBC.

£10,000 Bribe For 25 Year-Olds Would Cost £8 Billion Per Year per Guido Fawkes

Guido Fawkes is not impressed by the latest vote grabbing policy https://order-order.com/2018/05/08/resolution-foundations-10000-bribe-for-25-year-olds-would-cost-8-billion-year/

'The Resolution Foundation's call for millennials to be given a £10,000 handout from the state on their 25th birthday has to be one of the daftest ideas from wonk land in a while.

The Institute of Economic Affairs tell Guido that, while the number of people turning 25 will vary each year, on average it's around 800,000 people a year. That means the policy will cost an estimated £8 billion a year. Which is roughly equal to the total annual income tax paid by one million average earners…

The IEA's Kate Andrews is right:

"Why should the salary of a 40 year old person, earning the minimum wage, be redistributed to top-up a 25 year old, earning double or triple the average national income? There is nothing progressive about cash transfers that are based on age. This proposal stands in opposition to the fundamental principle of welfare safety nets: that resources are redistributed to those who are most in need."

Not to mention the fact that a £10,000 handout doesn't pay off a 25 year-old's tuition fees or get them on the housing ladder, let alone address any of the reasons why the Resolution Foundation thinks they need the money in the first place. Bonkers.'

Of course this isn't about practicalities, it's about trying to get the under 25s to vote Labour.

Tax on pensioners proposed to heal inter-generational divide per BBC News

BBC news report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-44029808 on the proposals for some wealth redistribution from the old to the young very positively.

Not only does this fit the Labour Party / BBC love for redistribution of wealth but also help the young at the expense of the old. The Conservative Party's proposals at the last General Election cost them enough votes from disenchanted elderly to cost them a majority. The BBC hope that this could be repeated or even worsened at the next General Election.

US condemns China for 'Orwellian nonsense' after Beijing writes to 36 airlines over Taiwan references

Whilst the BBC criticise President Trump for pretty much everything, pushing the views of people who call him a facist, they pretty much leave uncriticised China whose leader is now seemingly ruler for life and a country which restricts freedom of speech, however true, for non Chinese.

'The White House on Saturday harshly criticised China's efforts to require foreign airlines to change how they refer to Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, labeling the effort "Orwellian nonsense."

In a statement, the White House said the Chinese Civil Aviation Administration sent a letter to 36 foreign air carriers, including a number of US carriers, demanding changes.

The carriers were told to remove references on websites or in other material that suggests Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau are part of countries independent from China, US and airline officials said.'

You can add Tibet to that list, a country that the Chinese occupy and have ethnically cleansed since. The BBC and the seemingly antisemitic left prefer to ignore this occupation, whilst obsessing over Israel's non occupation of Judeah and Samaria.

More on this news here https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/05/05/us-condemns-china-orwellian-nonsense-beijing-writes-36-airlines/ at The Telegraph, not a word on the 'careful what we say' BBC.

Lebanon to elect its first new parliament since 2009 per BBC News

This BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-44020061 on Lebanon includes this line:

'Hezbollah, the armed group considered a terrorist organisation by the United States and others, is seeking to increase its parliamentary representation.'

Oddly the BBC don't also inform their readers of these words by the Hezbollah leader:

'Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah: "If Jews all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide." (NY Times, May 23, 2004, p. 15, section 2, column 1.)'

Relevant surely, but not the sort of information that the BBC want the British people to have about an organisation that Jeremy Corbyn described as 'friends'.

People much less likely to move home than in 1970s per BBC News

This BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-43992782 on the reduction in likelihood of people moving house ignores one large elephant in the room. It manages to mention rising house prices but not the other factor that affects housing mobility - tax. I wonder if the rate of housing mobility changed in 1997, because it was that year that Gordon Brown changed the stamp duty on house purchases from the rate under the Conservative government of 0% on the first £60,000 and 1% on the rest to:
0% on the first £60,000
1% on the amount between £60,000 and £250,000
1.5% on the amount between £250,000 and £500,000
2% on amounts above £500,000

Gordon Brown raised the rates a year later:
0% on the first £60,000
1% on the amount between £60,000 and £250,000
2% on the amount between £250,000 and £500,000
3% on amounts above £500,000

A year later Gordon Brown raised the rates again:
0% on the first £60,000
1% on the amount between £60,000 and £250,000
2.5% on the amount between £250,000 and £500,000
3.5% on amounts above £500,000

And a year later the 'clunking fist' did it again:
0% on the first £60,000
1% on the amount between £60,000 and £250,000
3% on the amount between £250,000 and £500,000
4% on amounts above £500,000

Note that these higher and higher rates were not charged on the amount in each band but on the whole amount to that band. This is what reduced housing movement massively, especially in London and the South East of England where house prices are higher.

There was some tinkering on the 0% band spread in later Gordon Brown budgets and more and more subsequent to that. The biggest change came under the Conservative government in December 2014 when stamp duty was changed so that the charge was made payable on the portion of value in each bracket, which was fairer than the Gordon Brown tax grab, but who expects fairness from a Labour government?

Yes house prices massively increased over the period discussed by the BBC but not to mention the massive changes in Stamp Duty under successive Labour governments cannot be a mistake. Once again the BBC are protecting the Labour Party from criticism over its previous record, I can think of no other reason to omit this factor.

Thornberry Present at Abbas Jew Hate Speech per Guido Fawkes

Mahmoud Abbas made an antisemitic speech and the BBC didn't bother reporting it. I reported on this at the time.

I've just read at Guido Fawkes here https://order-order.com/2018/05/02/thornberry-present-abbas-jew-hate-speech that the Labour Party shadow Foreign Secretary was in attendance, commented on social media about it but took quite some time to tweet her opposition to the antisemitism on display. You can read the whole story at the link above. Here's an extract:

Emily Thornberry attended the Mahmoud Abbas speech which made global headlines this week for its anti-Semitic content, Guido can reveal.

Thornberry was representing Labour at the Palestinian National Council (PNC) meeting in Ramallah. The Shadow Foreign Secretary confirmed her attendance in a a Facebook post published after Abbas' speech. Her statement did not reference Abbas' anti-Semitic comments…

Here's Emily Thornberry second statement:

"It is deeply regrettable that, during a lengthy speech whose main and successful purpose was to urge the Palestinian National Council to remain committed to the Middle East peace process and the objective of a two-state solution, President Abbas made these anti-Semitic remarks about the history of the Jewish community in Europe which were not just grossly offensive, but utterly ignorant. His comments were out of keeping with the tone of the Council as a whole, and of my discussions with other delegates, and I hope President Abbas will immediately apologise for them, so that the message to come out of this important Council meeting can remain positive and progressive, and focused on re-establishing peaceful and constructive dialogue."

Labour sources are concerned that the Shadow Foreign Secretary did not initially distance herself from the remarks or condemn them. It has been confirmed that she was in the room during the remarks, alongside 80 other international observers.'

You won't be surprised to learn that the institutionally anti Israel, and now seemingly borderline antisemitic, BBC have not reported Emily Thornberry's attendance or comments. I wonder why?

Sajid Javid demands Jeremy Corbyn denounce racist abuse against him but Jeremy Corbyn doesn't

'Sajid Javid today angrily demanded Jeremy Corbyn denounce his supporters for branding him a 'coconut' and an 'Uncle Tom' since his appointment as Home Secretary.

Amid furious exchanges in a Commons debate on the Windrush scandal, Mr Javid demanded the Labour leader come to the Despatch Box to condemn the abuse.

Since being made Home Secretary on Monday, Mr Javid has been subject to a torrent of racist abuse - much of which appears to come from left-wingers who profess support for Mr Corbyn.

The Labour leader kept his seat when Mr Javid made his challenge... '

Allegedly Jeremy Corbyn is vehemently opposed to racism, odd that he wouldn't denounce those of his supporters who were being racist towards a black Conservative MP. I wonder why Jeremy Corbyn didn't do this? Actually, I don't.

More here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5683017/Sajid-Javid-demands-Corbyn-denounce-supporters-branding-coconut-Uncle-Tom.html at The Mail but obviously not on the BBC where supporting their precious Labour Party is more important than opposing racism, after all there are local elections to help Labour do well in today.

Vaz Case Referred Back to Police per Guido Fawkes

Guido Fawkes reports https://order-order.com/2018/05/01/vaz-case-referred-back-police/ that Keith Vaz case has been referred back to the police.

Three things, first have the BBC reported this news? Second, how much coverage would the BBC afford such a story had it been a Conservative MP rather than a Labour one? Third, does anyone seriously think that the BBC will refer this case to the CPP, and if they do that the CPP will take any action? I can almost hear the phrase 'not in the public interest'.

Is the Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas, applying for membership of the British Labour Party?

Is the Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas, applying for membership of the British Labour Party?

'(Palestinian leader Mahmoud) Abbas told a meeting in the West Bank the Nazi mass murder of European Jews was the result of their financial activities, not anti-Semitism.

He described their "social function" as "usury and banking and such".'

Antisemitism and previous holocaust denial, membership of the Labour Party must be imminent.

Even the institutionally anti Israel BBC have difficulty in spinning this news http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-43967600 but I'm sure they'll find an anti Israel angle or replacement story soon.

Is it reasonable to expect Israel to make peace with an antisemitic holocaust denier? What say you Jeremy Corbyn?
