I blogged back in June that "Libya is the sole candidate for the post of Chair of a United Nations anti-racism conference to be held in Geneva later this month". Now I See that Libya as well as being elected to chair the UN Human Rights Commission has just been elected to be a non-permanent member of the Security Council for the years 2008/2009.
I am close to being speechless, this is beyond satire.
