So said the Metropolitan Police as they knocked back Ken Livingstone's attempt to kick the Less Jasper affair into the long grass. If the police had agreed to investigate then Ken Livingstone would have said he couldn't comment on the matter as it was the subject of a police investigation and he did not want to prejudice the investigation. I assume that he will now try and say that the police didn't investigate because there was no criminal wrongdoing. If he does try this defence, then I hope that he is reminded that Lee Jasper's "alleged offences are not criminal.
