Imagine if Sam met Michael

Imagine the furore that would be created if it was reported that Sam Cameron had been spotted having lunch alone with Lord Michael Ashcroft. The BBC would be outraged, there would be endless discussions on the Today programme and Newsnight, Michael Crick would do a humorous piece about the choice of venue for the lunch and might even doorstep David Cameron to get his reaction. Victoria Derbyshire and Richard Bacon on 5Live would be outraged at the possible next Prime Minister's wife lunching with a non-dom.

Oddly the only report that I have seen of Sarah Brown's lunch for two with Lord Swaraj Paul was on Guido Fawkes. Not a word from James Naughtie, Jeremy Paxman, Michael Crick or the 5Live left-wing presenters.
