In my limited experience of camels, sex was not the first thing on my mind. Survival was uppermost.
Mr. Goat,
OT I know, but some time ago you blogged a great quote from Cicero and it reminded me of a quote from my great hero, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. It has just taken me some time to dig it out and struggle with the translation. With your indulgence, I shall post it separately now.
" There are no bonds between the government and the people. What we call the people are now composed of women, disabled men and children. For all, the government is the power which drives them to hunger and death.
The administrative machinery is devoid of authority. Public life is in anarchy. Every new step taken by government increases the hatred the people feel for it. "
(to be continued )
" All officials take bribes and are capable of corruption and abuse. Justice has entirely stopped. The police do not function. Economic life is breaking down. The people do not have any confidence in the future "

From a letter from Ataturk in September 1917 to Enver Pasha who was leader of the "Young Turk" government at the time.
Ataturk risked his life writing this.
Enver was deposed and killed by the russians in central Asia pursuing his crazy idea of "Turanism".
The rest is history.
