I see in The Times (£) that once again the Jews are to blame for a Muslim being caught out.
The Times article goes onto report that Lord Ahmed falsely claimed that the Court of Appeal had overturned his conviction.
'A Labour peer who was jailed for sending text messages shortly before his car was in a fatal motorway crash has blamed his imprisonment on a Jewish conspiracy.
Lord Ahmed claimed that his prison sentence for dangerous driving resulted from pressure placed on the courts by Jews “who own newspapers and TV channels”. Britain’s first male Muslim peer also alleged that the judge who jailed him for 12 weeks was appointed to the High Court after helping a “Jewish colleague” of Tony Blair during “an important case”.'
Interestingly I note that the Appeal court did agree to the 'exceptional' course of suspending the sentence for 12 months after hearing that a prison sentence would impede Lord Ahmed's work building bridges between the Muslim world and others.
If Lord Ahmed did make these accusations on Pakistan TV, and The Times says it has the video and audio of the broadcast, then surely Lord Ahmed has shown that he is not interested in building bridges between the Muslim world and British Jews and should be sent to prison to serve his minimal sentence.
Remember that the Labour peer was jailed for texting whilst driving, shortly before crashing into a stationary car in an incident that resulted in the death of the driver of that stationary car.
In addition a solicitor referenced by The Times makes the very good point that had Lord Ahmed made such remarks in Britain, rather than Pakistan, then he could have faced an investigation into whether he had committed an offence of incitement to racial hatred under the Public Order Act 1986.
In case you are wondering, the BBC seem not to have covered this story yet, I wonder if they will? I am sure they would have done had it been a Conservative Jewish politician blaming Muslims for his plight, but a Labour Muslim politician of Pakistani origin blaming Jews - that's perfectly acceptable at the BBC.
