Islamic State: Iraq minorities 'threatened with eradication' per BBC News

The BBC report http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-31655433 on the continuing eradication of non Muslims from another part of the Islamic world.

'Islamic State militants are trying to eradicate Iraqi minority groups from large parts of the country, human rights organisations have warned.

A report details summary executions, forced conversions, rape and other abuses suffered by minorities.

Such acts are tantamount to war crimes, and in some cases, genocide, it argues.

Iraqi minorities face a "threat to their existence", said the Institute of International Law and Human Rights (IILHR), one of the groups involved.

Focusing on Iraq's Christian, Kaka'i, Shabak, Turkmen and Yazidi populations, the report looks at their plight after the fall of Mosul to IS in June 2014, a key point in the rise of a group that now controls swathes of the country.

Minorities were soon targeted, the report details. Christians were told to leave Mosul or face execution.'

The pattern is clear across the world, in countries where Islam becomes the majority religion, non Muslims suffer discrimination, at best, but too often persecution and death. Post partition, compare the fate of Muslims in Hindu majority India with that of Hindus in Muslim majority Pakistan.

US-Bangladesh blogger Avijit Roy hacked to death per BBC News

This BBC report http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-31656222 does contain a very important truth.

"Islamic terrorists can do whatever they like. They can kill people with no qualms whatsoever."

Of course those words aren't those of the BBC who would never link the word terrorists with the word Islamic.

Gaza resident: 'Everyone has forgotten us' per BBC News

The BBC's obsession with vilifying Israel continues as they publish this report http://m.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-31617943

'Gaza resident: 'Everyone has forgotten us'

During the last conflict with Israel, more than 2,000 Gazans were killed and 18,000 Gazan homes destroyed.'

No context but then why examine causes when the BBC is institutionally anti Israel?

If President Obama truly loved America

Archbishop Cranmer 'gets it' unlike Channel 4 and the institutionally anti Israel BBC

The whole article is here http://archbishopcranmer.com/ukip-the-first-100-days-and-channel-4-gratuitous-anti-israelism/ but here's an extract:

'It is extraordinary, as Europe's Jews are being spat on in the streets, shot in kosher delicatessens andslaughtered in their synagogues, that Channel 4 persists with its pathological antipathy toward the State of Israel. Do they not understand that it is the only democracy in the Middle East? Do they not appreciate that Israel is the only country in the entire region where women are equal; adulterers aren't stoned; children aren't sold into slavery; Christians aren't beheaded; gays aren't thrown from tall buildings; and prisoners aren't caged like animals and burned alive?'

Amnesty's report details 'devastating year of mass violence' - BBC News

Further to my last post, I see that I was correct. This BBC report http://m.bbc.com/news/world-31614093 an analysis of the Amnesty International report includes this:

'Anna Neistat, Amnesty's senior director for research, said: "Huge arms shipments were delivered to Iraq, Israel, South Sudan and Syria in 2014 despite the very high likelihood that these weapons would be used against civilian populations trapped in conflict.'

Israel is the target. The institutionally anti Israel BBC would love that.

Amnesty calls on UN powers to lose veto on genocide votes

This BBC report http://www.bbc.com/news/world-31617141 about Amnesty International's call to end the five members of the UN Security Council's veto in cases of genocide mentions some countries by name:

'Amnesty's annual report makes for sober reading, notes our correspondent.

This is unsurprising, he adds, given the atrocities committed in Syria, Iraq, Nigeria, Central African Republic and other countries.

Amnesty's report said that 2014 had led to one of the worst refugee crises in history, with four million Syrians displaced by war and thousands of migrants dying in the Mediterranean.'

I will wager a fair sum that the first country to be accused of genocide will be Israel and not the countries named above. The United Nations is hopelessly biased against Israel and this would be another way to vilify the only majority Jewish state in the world.

Militants, migrants and the Med: Europe's Libya problem - BBC News

In this BBC report http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-31584236 the BBC pretend to be concerned about the possibility of ISIS terrorists  not that the BBC would ever use such a pejorative word, infiltrating Europe disguised as migrants (more correctly immigrants).

' "The southern Crusader states... can be reached with ease by even a rudimentary boat," says the document, widely quoted in the British press after it was translated by the Quilliam Foundation, a counter-extremism think tank.

However, the Foundation says the authenticity of the document cannot be confirmed and its claims must be treated with caution - at most as propaganda rather than mission statement.'

Every statement that runs counter to the approved narrative that Islam is the Religion of Peace and that ISIS don't really want to establish a world wide Caliphate is treated as suspect by the BBC and other media and will continue to be so treated until it's way to late for the West to do anything concrete to counter the threat.

The last passage of the BBC report is perhaps the most pernicious:

'Attacks inspired by Islamic State have killed fewer than 25 people in Europe over the last year. None of the attackers were migrants.'

None were immigrants so that's fine? It's better to be killed by a non immigrant Islamist than a migrant one? None in the last year so don't worry about the threat? The BBC disgust me.

Islamic State 'abducts dozens of Christians in Syria' - but it's not about religion...

The BBC http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-31601451 manage to report that

'... violent attacks by extremist groups like IS, which has forced Christians living in the territory it controls to either convert to Islam, pay a religious levy (jizya) or face death.'

But seem confused as to the motive. Stupidity or deliberate blindness to the obvious?

What ISIS Really Wants and Is

This fascinating article http://www.theatlantic.com/features/archive/2015/02/what-isis-really-wants/384980/ will tell you more about ISIS than a thousand Barack Hussein Obama speeches will.

Here's a key extract:
'The reality is that the Islamic State is Islamic. Very Islamic. Yes, it has attracted psychopaths and adventure seekers, drawn largely from the disaffected populations of the Middle East and Europe. But the religion preached by its most ardent followers derives from coherent and even learned interpretations of Islam.

Virtually every major decision and law promulgated by the Islamic State adheres to what it calls, in its press and pronouncements, and on its billboards, license plates, stationery, and coins, "the Prophetic methodology," which means following the prophecy and example of Muhammad, in punctilious detail. Muslims can reject the Islamic State; nearly all do. But pretending that it isn't actually a religious, millenarian group, with theology that must be understood to be combatted, has already led the United States to underestimate it and back foolish schemes to counter it.'

US security chief warns shoppers after terror threat per BBC News

'In the video, a man with a British-sounding accent and full face covering calls on supporters of al-Shabab to attack "American or Jewish-owned" Western shopping centres.'

Jewish not Israeli? Maybe someone should explain that to Barack Hussein Obama and David Cameron, it's about religion.

More here http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-31576486 but no mention of the word Muslims.

Barack Hussein Obama talks about Radical Islam / random folks

A parody?

BBC News obsessing over India, as it does with Israel.

This BBC report http://www.bbc.com/news/world-31557244 highlights the BBC obsession over India and putting that country in as bad a light as possible.

The BBC's pro Islam outlook and it's employment of many more Muslim than Hindu staff means that its news output is skewed.

This article lists some crimes against Indian Muslims, crimes that are worthy of reporting. However the BBC is not as interested in reporting the massively higher number of crimes against non Muslims carried out by Muslims in countries such as Pakistan and Indonesia.

That the BBC is institutionally anti Israel is pretty much accepted by right thinking people. That it is also institutionally anti a Hindu India is also clear.

Say Islamist, I dare you.

The BBC faithfully report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31564014 the latest comments by the Shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper on the three British Muslim schoolgirls reported to have travelled to Syria to join up with ISIS
"The idea of 15-year-old British schoolgirls setting off to Syria is very disturbing, and shows that more action is urgently needed to stop young people being drawn into extremism and conflict."

How many non Muslims have joined up with ISIS? So the word Muslim should appear between British and schoolgirls. What extremism are these young people being drawn into? Surely the word Islamic needs to be inserted between into and extremism.

Stop the dhimmitude.

Anti-Labour bias at the BBC? What a fiction!

Allison Pearson in The Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/bbc/11420489/Anti-Labour-bias-at-the-BBC-What-a-fiction.html has an interesting angle on the perniciousness of the BBC's anti Conservative bias.

Over 100 artists announce a cultural boycott of Israel per Letters in The Guardian

This Guardian letter raises an interesting question but first the letter and a record of the signatories:
'Israel
Letter: Over 100 artists announce a cultural boycott of Israel
Friday 13 February 2015 16.51 GMT
Along with more than 600 other fellow artists, we are announcing today that we will not engage in business-as-usual cultural relations with Israel. We will accept neither professional invitations to Israel, nor funding, from any institutions linked to its government. Since the summer war on Gaza, Palestinians have enjoyed no respite from Israel's unrelenting attack on their land, their livelihood, their right to political existence. "2014," says the Israeli human rights organisation B'Tselem, was "one of the cruellest and deadliest in the history of the occupation." The Palestinian catastrophe goes on.

Israel's wars are fought on the cultural front too. Its army targets Palestinian cultural institutions for attack, and prevents the free movement of cultural workers. Its own theatre companies perform to settler audiences on the West Bank – and those same companies tour the globe as cultural diplomats, in support of "Brand Israel". During South African apartheid, musicians announced they weren't going to "play Sun City". Now we are saying, in Tel Aviv, Netanya, Ashkelon or Ariel, we won't play music, accept awards, attend exhibitions, festivals or conferences, run masterclasses or workshops, until Israel respects international law and ends its colonial oppression of the Palestinians. To see the full list of supporters, go to artistsforpalestine.org.uk.

Leaving aside the questionable statements about Israel in the letter. Do these people ever boycott Russia for invading Ukraine and killing many more people than Israel has ever killed? Boycott Syria for killing more people in two years than Israel has in self defence since 1948. What about China whose regimes have killed tens of millions as well as invading, occupying and indulging in population transfers in Tibet.

To paraphrase Mrs Merton, what attracts these people to opposing the only majority Jewish state?

Caught on camera, the day smoking Ed Balls triumphed over the Bank of England per The Telegraph (part 2)

This Telegraph article also includes this key paragraph:

Caught on camera, the day smoking Ed Balls triumphed over the Bank of England per The Telegraph

This Telegraph article is interesting for both the repetition of that which many of us have known and repeated for years but also for the supine BBC reporter aspect.
'1997 documentary reveals how Ed Balls and Ed Miliband helped Brown redraw banking regulations, despite Treasury fears and Bank of England protests

Ed Balls boasted of over-ruling the Bank of England as Gordon Brown stripped it of the power to regulate the City, a newly-uncovered film reveals.

The act that some economic experts argue contributed to the financial crisis was captured by a documentary film crew.

Gordon Brown's economic adviser is seen telling a senior journalist that the Bank strongly objected to the plan to hive off regulation of the finance industry to a new watchdog – but they had no "choice" over the decision.

The then-30 year old is later seen jubilant after the BBC's John Sergeant gave positive coverage of the move to create the Financial Services Authority, telling Mr Brown: "Sergeant bought the whole bloody lot."'

Ban on pork in Islington’s primary schools - Education - London 24

Here it is:
' The Great British banger is off the menu for Islington children as pork has been banned in all the borough's primary schools.

Islington Council has been criticised by the pork industry for refusing to dish up chops, sausages and bacon to youngsters, although the meat is served in secondary schools.

Despite pork being a cheap meat, the council claims it is too expensive to serve because the authority has to monitor what every child eats in case those whose cultural or religious beliefs forbid pork, eat it by accident.

...

Dr Zoe Davies, chief executive of the National Pig Association, said: "This is something we are particularity concerned about.

"It's something we have heard of but we wouldn't say it's common. It tends to happen in areas where there are large numbers of children from, for example, a Muslim background who wouldn't eat pork."

"But we would like there to be a choice. Pork is a very affordable and nutritious meat.

Cllr Joe Caluori, Islington council's executive member for children and families, said: "By not having pork on the menus in our schools, we can keep down costs and reduce food waste, maximising the schools meal budget in tough financial circumstances. We meet regularly with our catering contractor and stakeholders, and feedback is that schools are very happy with the food offered by the service."

A council spokesman added: "Young children, some as young as 4-yrs-old, of different religious and ethnic backgrounds may not know which foods contain pork, or may not realise the importance of avoiding it due to their culture or beliefs.

"Monitoring each child, every day ensuring they are avoiding pork, is an unnecessary cost at a time of tight budgets."'
So they won't serve pork in case a Muslim (or they would add, Jewish) child eats it. But they still serve beef. Do they not care about Hindu and Sikh children?

Feminism and politics

Dan Hodges nails the difference between the Conservative and Labour parties on feminism:
' The idea the Labour Party is blazing a trail for women is one of the biggest jokes in British politics

On this day in 1975 Margaret Thatcher became the first female leader of the Conservative Party.
Yesterday the Labour Party unveiled its response. According to the Guardian "a bright pink minibus of female Labour MPs will tour constituencies to talk to female voters around the kitchen table".

Words fail me

This Guardian report has left me all but speechless:
'A British police force has apologised after an officer told a newsagent to hand over details of customers who purchased copies of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in the wake of the Paris terror attacks.

...

“To my surprise, a copy arrived last Wednesday week and although the standard of content in no way matches that of the Guardian I will cherish it. However, two days later a member of Her Majesty’s police service visited said newsagent, requesting the names of the four customers who had purchased Charlie Hebdo. So beware, your badges may attract police interest in your customers.”

In a statement, Wiltshire police apologised to “the members of the public who may be affected by this” and said they had deleted the details from their system.'
Words fail me.

What could be more absurd than censorship on campus? Per Nick Cohen | Comment is free | The Guardian

Nick Cohen nails it in The Guardian:
'The intellectuals who excused Stalinist communism in the 1940s aren't so different from their grandchildren, who excuse radical Islam. Orwell was something of a "whoreophobe" himself and he warned his contemporaries: "Do remember that dishonesty and cowardice always have to be paid for. Don't imagine that for years on end you can make yourself the boot-licking propagandist of the Soviet regime, or any other regime, and then suddenly return to mental decency. Once a whore, always a whore."

Unless today's intellectuals want the same said of them they must end the censorship of debates that provoke no violence beyond the violently hurt feelings of the thin-skinned. They must prove the sincerity of their argument that religious reaction must be met with words, not arrests, by overcoming their cowardice and spitting out protests of their own.'

Prince Charles says radicalisation of young people 'alarming' per BBC News (Update)

Yesterday I blogged:
'There is something alarming about this BBC report and it's that it fails to mention Islam or Muslims even once.
Is Prince Charles really so politically correct that he didn't say which young people were becoming radicalised? Or did the BBC censor what he said? Ordinarily I would suspect the BBC but in this case...'
It seems that I did Prince Charles a disservice.

Whilst the BBC's  report on a BBC interview with Prince Charles manages to excise all mention of Muslims or Islam, Sky News manages to report what he actually said, not what the dhimmis at the BBC wish he had said:
'Prince Charles said preventing the radicalisation of Muslim youth was a "great challenge" and something that could not be swept "under the carpet".

He expressed particular concern over the threat posed by young Muslims coming into contact with extremists online, describing it as "frightening".'
The BBC are shameless in their protection of Muslims from criticism, why?

The BBC hiding facts again

This BBC article about the latest child sex offence case seems to be lacking some details, here's the whole piece:
'West Yorkshire Police have charged 25 men with child sex offences including rape, grooming and trafficking.

The offences are alleged to have been committed between 2006 and 2011 and largely relate to one girl who was under 16 at the time.

The men are mainly from Halifax or Bradford, but also Huddersfield, Derby, Shipley, Nantwich and Newport in Wales.

All 25 have been released on bail and are due to appear before Calderdale Magistrates' Court on 12 February.

The full list of charges are rape, trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, sexual activity with a child under 16, sexual assault, voyeurism, sexual grooming, conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child under 16, causing a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity without consent and supply of a controlled drug of class B.

One of the allegations also relates to a second victim, during the same time period.'
25 men 'mainly from Halifax or Bradford, but also Huddersfield, Derby, Shipley, Nantwich and Newport in Wales.' Hmmm and the names of these men who the BBC choose not to list?

Breitbart have the list:
'HEDAR ALI, 35, of Nantwich, Cheshire. He is charged with rape (x2) and trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation (x2)

Now what exactly is it that links these 25 men?

Why am I, yet again, reminded of this sketch?

EU 'breaking international law' by funding illegal West Bank building projects per Daily Mail Online

The Daily Mail manages to report some illegal settlement building by Palestinians in the West Bank. Somehow I doubt that the institutionally anti Israel BBC will report the same news.
' The EU is acting illegally by funding unauthorised Palestinian building in areas placed under Israeli control by international law, say an NGO, international lawyers and MEPs.

More than 400 EU-funded Palestinian homes have been erected in Area C of the West Bank, which was placed under Israeli jurisdiction during the Oslo Accords – a part of international law to which the EU is a signatory.

The Palestinian buildings, which have no permits, come at a cost of tens of millions of Euros in public money, a proportion of which comes from the British taxpayer.

This has raised concerns that the EU is using valuable resources to take sides in a foreign territorial dispute.'

Life as a woman under Isis: Document reveals for the first time what group really expects from female recruits living in Syria and Iraq per The Independent but the paper doesn't explain one aspect

Why is it "legitimate" for girls to be married at the age of nine? What is the Islamic precedent for this?

UK anti-Semitism hit record level in 2014, report says per BBC News

The BBC manage to report the rise in anti-Semitism in the UK but of course don't mention Muslims even once.

There's a clue when the BBC report:
'It said almost half the offenders made reference to Gaza or Palestinians.'
But then that could apply to some BBC journalists as much as any anti-Semites.

In any case:
'However, it said the number of incidents had already risen significantly in the first six months of the year, before the summer's conflict.'
The BBC do find the space to report:
'one far-right activist said he was planning a protest there next month - against "Jewification", according to a poster he put on Facebook.'
The BBC are still desperate to suggest that anti-Semitic attacks and sentiment are the fault of the right-wing, and just as desperate to absolve any part of Britain's Muslim population from any part in this.

The BBC also manage not to look at factors that might be increasing anti-Semitism in the UK. Factors such as the BBC's regular vilification of Israel.

TransAsia plane crash-lands in river in Taiwan as filmed by car dash-cam

Is this real?

Apparently so...

The BBC allow the word 'terror' to be linked to ISIS, some mistake surely!

This BBC article entitled 'Islamic State: Can its savagery be explained?' is not by one of it's ever so politically correct journalists who are ever careful not to offend Islamic terrorists, but by:
Fawaz A Gerges (who) holds the Emirates Chair in Contemporary Middle Eastern Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is author of several books, including Journey of the Jihadist: Inside Muslim Militancy.
Here's the opening part of the article:
Islamic State has become synonymous with viciousness - beheadings, crucifixions, stonings, massacres, burying victims alive and religious and ethnic cleansing.

While such savagery might seem senseless to the vast majority of civilised human beings, for IS it is a rational choice. It is a conscious decision to terrorise enemies and impress and co-opt new recruits.

IS adheres to a doctrine of total war without limits and constraints - no such thing, for instance, as arbitration or compromise when it comes to settling disputes with even Sunni Islamist rivals. Unlike its parent organisation, al-Qaeda, IS pays no lip service to theology to justify its crimes.

The violence has its roots in what can be identified as two earlier waves, though the scale and intensity of IS' brutality far exceeds either.
I wonder if the BBC noticed the word 'terrorise' in the second paragraph.

A serious Googe Ads fail - Warning graphic content

I think that the young Jordanian pilot, Moaz al-Kasasbeh, deserves better than to attract advertising for walk in showers. Sick, sick, sick.
