Did a French court really give an Islamist who wanted to join ISIS in Syria a four hour window every day when he could do what he wanted?

'... it was revealed that one of the killers, 19-year-old Adel K., was being monitored by electronic tag after twice attempting to join fanatics in Syria.

His bail terms, however, allowed him to be unsupervised between 8.30am and 12.30pm. The attack happened between 9am and 11am'
More here in The Mail

If this is true then the French legal system is as ridiculous as ours. Questions need to be asked and terrorist suspects need to be treated as potentially dangerous 24 hours a day.

Tony Blair biography reveals PM's conspiracy to silence immigration debate per Daily Mail Online

The Daily Mail reports something that we pretty much knew already but is still something that the BBC won't report.

'Tony Blair presided over a silent conspiracy to change the face of Britain for ever with mass immigration, an explosive book reveals.

He ordered his Labour government never to discuss in public the supposed 'advantages' of the unprecedented influx.

But behind the scenes ministers were instructed to wave tens of thousands of asylum seekers into the UK under cover of their being 'economic migrants'.

Astonishingly, the minister Mr Blair put in charge of borders ruled against deporting failed claimants because it would be too 'emotional'.

Tony Blair presided over a silent conspiracy to change the face of Britain for ever with mass immigration, investigative journalist Tom Bower claims in his explosive new book

The main aim of allowing in millions of people was to make the country 'see the benefit of a multicultural society'. The Blair government did not see its job as being to 'control immigration'.

The policy is revealed today in a Daily Mail serialisation of an authoritative biography of the former prime minister by Tom Bower, an internationally-acclaimed investigative journalist.'

SAS sniper in Iraq kills 5 ISIS jihadis with 3 bullets as 1 makes suicide vest explode per Daily Mail Online

'An SAS sniper was able to stop a group of jihadis launching a suicide bomb attack by killing the terrorists with just three bullets in a dramatic shoot-out in an ISIS-held part of Iraq.

The marksman, who joined the SAS a decade ago, potentially saved the lives of hundreds of innocent people by firing three well-aimed shots at the jihadists as they left a bomb factory near Mosul.
The sniper was given the go-ahead after the men were spotted leaving the bomb factory wearing heavy coats in hot weather – a sign they were trying to hide their suicide vests.'

A hero but I'm sure the BBC and it's fellow travellers will find an angle to criticise this action. Perhaps the BBC and Jeremy Corbyn think that he should have arrested these terrorists.

Human Relief Foundation considers cutting off aid for the Calais ‘Jungle’ per Daily Mail Online

The Daily Mail yesterday had this report that oddly has still not made it to the BBC's news reporting. Maybe the BBC only cover The Mail's reports when they involve a Conservative Prime Minister and porcine rumours.

'The Bradford-based Human Relief Foundation has been running a project to help the 'refugees' at the makeshift camp and previously claimed they were all 'fleeing war and significant atrocities.'

But a visit by a team led by Kassim Tokan, the HRF deputy chief executive, discovered a totally different picture on the ground, with unwanted clothing and food being 'dumped and burnt' by the migrants.

The organisation had been running a project  to help the 'refugees' at the makeshift camp and previously claimed they were all 'fleeing war and significant atrocities

Instead of vulnerable families fighting for survival he found the camp – dubbed the Jungle – was '95 to 97 per cent' adult men.'

95%+ adult men, well that doesn't match with the BBC's coverage does it. There's a narrative to spread so I doubt that the BBC will go anywhere near this news.

'The fruit is indigenous to every continent excluding New Zealand, Africa and Australia.'
Ah the continent of New Zealand... Which is obviously completely separate from Australia...

EU 'breaking international law' by funding illegal West Bank building projects per Daily Mail Online

The Daily Mail manages to report some illegal settlement building by Palestinians in the West Bank. Somehow I doubt that the institutionally anti Israel BBC will report the same news.
' The EU is acting illegally by funding unauthorised Palestinian building in areas placed under Israeli control by international law, say an NGO, international lawyers and MEPs.

More than 400 EU-funded Palestinian homes have been erected in Area C of the West Bank, which was placed under Israeli jurisdiction during the Oslo Accords – a part of international law to which the EU is a signatory.

The Palestinian buildings, which have no permits, come at a cost of tens of millions of Euros in public money, a proportion of which comes from the British taxpayer.

This has raised concerns that the EU is using valuable resources to take sides in a foreign territorial dispute.'

Miley Cyrus goes topless in sultry bedroom snap as she hits out at censorship on Instagram - Daily Mail obviously don't do irony

This Daily Mail article includes this line:
'Free The Nipple is an equality movement that's meant to empower women across the world, against female oppression and censorship, as many states still have laws against public toplessness.'
The photos of Miley Cyrus that accompany the article have Miley Cyrus's nipples obscured or airbrushed out... Hmmmm The Daily Mail obviously don't do irony.

South African Airways pilot arrested after stripping in protest over airport security | Mail Online

'A South African Airways pilot stripped to his underwear in front of crew and passengers in protest over rigorous airport searches.

Captain W Van Ginkel, who was about to board the airline's Flight SA 025 jet to fly to Johannesburg, reportedly removed all his clothes except his pants at Harare International Airport, Zimbabwe '

I know how he feels...

Well which is it? Is early morning sunbathing good or bad for you?

Two articles in today's Mail caught my eye, mainly because they were all but next to each other.

First this article revealed that:
'Holidaymakers wanting to lose weight on holiday should sunbathe in the morning rather than the afternoon, according to a new study.

Researchers found early rays keep off the pounds as people exposed to earlier sunlight are leaner than those who opt for the afternoon.

The report shows the timing, intensity and duration of light exposure during the day is linked to weight - the first time this has been shown.'
Then this article told us that ;
'(A) Woman, 63, dies after being mauled by shark as she went for early morning swim off Australian beach'

Maybe early morning sunbathing is good for you but not early morning swimming? Personally I like to do both, but not in shark infested areas.

The Mail versus The Guardian

On Tuesday The Mail published this article entitled 'Dying to get into Britain: Four desperate migrants are killed in Calais in just one week as they target lorries bound for UK.'

Yesterday The Guardian published this article entitled 'Why are the nerves of empathy severed when it comes to immigration?'

Please read both articles, I have.

Now why doesn't Jonathan Jones in his Guardian piece ask these questions: If these poor people are struggling for a better life away from Africa or Eastern Europe, why are they so desperate to get to the UK rather than settling in Germany or France, where they already are? What is it about the UK that makes them so desperate to get here?

Reese Witherspoon or Austin Healey? Certainly looks more like ex-England rugby player Austin Healey than actress Reeses Witherspoon but who am I to gainsay The Mail?

Well airport security can be trying

The rigmarole at British airports of removing your laptop and/or tablet from your carry-on bag, but not your pda (why the distinction? when does a pda become a tablet? 4", 5", 7", 9"?), then removing your coat or jacket but not always a cardigan or windcheater, removing your belt and sometimes your shoes can be rather trying.

Putting everything back into place whilst not holding up the queue too much is also extremely irritating but we'll leave that for the moment.

Many is the time that I've joked to Mrs NotaSheep and other nearby passengers that before long they'll require us to all strip completely before going through the magic arch. Well according to the Daily Mail two passengers at Manchester Airport tried to just that. Apparently:
'Hadfield-Hyde told the court that security guard Abdullah Mayet had indicated that she should take off all her clothes before passing through the scanner. She said: ‘He was pointing at me saying, “Off”. I said to him, “Do you mean just my jacket?”, but he was saying, “Off, off, all off”.’

I think I see the problem, I've also experienced the occasional security guard whose grasp of English is somewhat shaky and whose attitude is rude and dismissive. Indeed Mrs NotaSheep almost got into a serious row with one such security guard at a London airport when they put her carry-on bag to one side for manual checking but then just left it there for almost half  an hour rather than check it. That security guard seemed to be of a similar racial background to the guard in this instance, as Mrs NotaSheep says, some of these people just don't know how to deal with modern women.

The one hundred and fifty sixth weekly "No shit, Sherlock" award

This week's award is presented to the former director of BBC News, Helen Boaden who is reported to have accepted that when she came into her role in September 2004 there had been a problem in the BBC’s coverage of immigration. Apparently she was aware of a "deep liberal bias" in the way that the BBC approached the topic of immigration.

The BBC with a 'deep liberal bias' on immigration - "No shit, Sherlock"

Now what could the explanation be?

The Mail reports the confusing news that:
'Dozens of Mobula Ray fish were mysteriously washed up on the beach in Gaza City yesterday and carted off to market by Palestinian fishermen.
It was the first time the fish had been seen on the beach for six years, according to a local video report purporting to show fisherman examining the Rays.'

This article caught my eye as I love rays and indeed have swum with them. People do eat rays, so I did a bit of digging and found this on Ma'an News - Ma’an Network is the largest independent TV, radio and online media group in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
'GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Fishermen say the locally rare batfish stingray is making a comeback in the waters off the coast of Gaza. For the first time in five years, fishermen say they are catching the rays by the hundreds. The batfish ray takes a triangular shape with large wings -- some are as large as 80 kilograms. A kilo of the ray sells for 10 shekels ($2.68) in local markets. "People in al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City rush to buy the batfish and consider it healthy, especially for little kids," said Mahfouth al-Kabariti, the head of the Gaza fishermen's union.'

Washed up on the beach?

I expect the BBC to report this story, just as soon as they can find a way to blame the Jews Israel.

Read and weep - ‘I am entitled to live in a house like this’

‘I am entitled to live in a house like this’

The Mail  have the weep-making details, here's an extract:
'Mrs Mahmoud, who has five young daughters and two teenage sons, insisted she had the right to live in the house - which only underwent a £76,000 refit - half of which was paid for by public money - three years ago.

All of her children live at the address apart from her oldest son who is in prison for drug dealing.

She told Sun reporters: 'I deserve to live in a nice house and get benefits. In this country, it is our right to live here.''

Diane Abbott at it again?

The Mail  believe so, with a story that begins thus:
'Ed Miliband faced new calls to rebuke Labour frontbencher Diane Abbott last night after she told a young, Tory-voting black graduate who asked her for work that she wasn’t doing the ‘black thing’ and should ‘go and work for a white  Conservative’ instead.'
Is Diane Abbot really a racist? I am not sure.
Does Diane Abbott often seem to have an unfortunate negative attitude to anyone not in her Labour tribe? Yes.
Should Diane Abbott  be made to attend a race sensitivity course? Now there's an idea...

Daily Mail fail

The Mail speculates on Roman Abramovich’s New Year’s Eve party, apparently this will be
'a glittering celebration on which the Russian billionaire is spending more than £5million with plans to eclipse even last year’s sparkling event.

Mr Abramovich, 45, is back on the island of St Barts'
Fine and fair enough but then I spotted this picture and its caption...
The original Daily Mail caption for this photograph was 'Festive: Abramovich and his partner Dasha Zhukova celebrated Christmas on the Caribbean Island' which is a little odd as Roman Abramovich is actually lighting a menorah, to celebrate the Jewish festival of Channukah.

Addendum: The Mail have changed their caption to now read: 'Joining in: Abramovich was mingling with the locals on the island and even stopped to light some large candles' Still no mention of Channukah or Judaism though?
