How Greenpeace Wrecked One of the Most Sacred Places in the Americas

"This has been done without any respect for our laws," Peru's deputy minister for culture Luis Jaime Castillo told the press, calling Greenpeace's actions "thoughtless, insensitive, illegal, irresponsible and absolutely pre-meditated."

He explained further: "It was done in the middle of the night. They went ahead and stepped on our hummingbird, and looking at the pictures we can see there's very severe damage. Nobody can go on these lines without permission—not even the president of Peru!"

Greenpeace are apparently sorry, big deal. They've done major, maybe irreparable damage to part of the Nazca and should face appropriate retribution. The Greenpeace people that I've encountered have been so self-righteous and convinced of their moral superiority that I can well imagine them doing something like this and then whining 'But I'm trying to save the planet, why are you stopping me?'

More here http://gizmodo.com/how-greenpeace-wrecked-one-of-the-most-sacred-places-in-1669873583 but probably not on the eco warriors favourite news organisation, the BBC. For Greenpeace are heroes to the BBC and it's politically correct brigade of 'journalists'.

'We do not have any scientific proof that we are the cause of the global warming that has occurred in the last 200 years...The alarmism is driving us through scare tactics to adopt energy policies that are going to create a huge amount of energy poverty among the poor people'

Those are the words of Dr Patrick Moore, the founder of Greenpeace, Climate Depot report that:
'Dr. Patrick Moore, co-founder of the environmental organization Greenpeace, isn't too hot about global warming. Appearing on Fox Business Network with Stuart Varney on Thursday, he said global warming is a “natural phenomenon,” there's no proof of man-made global warming, and suggested that “alarmism” is driving politicians to create bad environmental policies. He also said he's not the only environmentalist that believes like him.

Moore is the author of the book, “Confessions of a Greenpeace Dropout: The Making of a Sensible Environmentalist,” in which he exposes the green movement and explains why he left the organization.

While talking with Varney, he explained that departure was in part due to the group's “extremist positions” and it being hijacked by political and social causes as well as the left:

...

"We do not have any scientific proof that we are the cause of the global warming that has occurred in the last 200 years...The alarmism is driving us through scare tactics to adopt energy policies that are going to create a huge amount of energy poverty among the poor people. It's not good for people and its not good for the environment...In a warmer world we can produce more food."
Moore was asked who is promoting man-made climate fears what are their motives?
Moore: "A powerful convergent of interests. Scientists seeking grant money, media seeking headlines, universities seeking huge grants from major institutions, foundations, environmental groups, politicians wanting to make it look like they are saving future generations. And all of these people have converged on this issue"
Moore says scientific dissent is growing: "There are many thousands of scientists' who reject man-made global warming fears...It's all based on computer models and predictions. We do not actually have a crystal ball, it is a mythical object."'

What caused the forest fire in Israel?

Haunting The Library has some fascinating news that I doubt the BBC will cover.

'Late last year Israel’s worst ever forest fire was blazing out of control, destroying homes and releasing untold quantities of Co2 into the atmosphere. Over 5,000 hectares of forest were utterly destroyed, and experts say it will be half a century before the forest gets back to anything like its former state.

Greenpeace  lost no time, of course, in pointing the finger squarely at global warming, and issued a press release, demanding Israel abandon construction of a new coal power station, and calling for all comrades to join the “international struggle”:
Greenpeace wishes to emphasize that this fire is a direct expression of the effects of climate change and global warming which threaten us all.  Climate change is already here and it is taking a heavy human toll!
Israel must take this warning sign seriously and take immediate measures in order to eradicate the effects of climate change.  Israel must cancel its plans to construct another coal plant, reduce use of fossil fuels, and realize that we are dealing with an international struggle.
Green Prophet. Greenpeace Responds to Israel Carmel Fire.'
All done and dusted? Well no, it isn't because Haunting the Library has spotted something in
The Jerusalem Post.

'The cause of this particular fire was, sadly enough, the good intentions of a participant in the Rainbow Festival that was being held at the site. For ecological reasons, she burned toilet paper she had used so as not to leave it in nature, and in normal circumstances, that would have been the thing to do. However, due to the strong winds and the unseasonable hot air, the dry grasses caught on fire immediately, and the fire spread in four different directions simultaneously.'
So rather than global warming being to blame it was an environmentalist at the Rainbow Festival; karma?
