Any other ideas to maybe help Labour win a few more seats than would otherwise be the case? Here's one "reducing security at election counts".
What else? Maybe only printing the name of the Labour candidate on the polling slip? How about only opening polling stations between 10am and 4pm so the employed can't vote? What about having multiple polling stations only in safe Labour areas of constituencies and just one polling station per Conservative leaning area?
Of course those last ideas were satirical! The real plan is that a swine flu epidemic will necessitate the imposition of the Civil Contingency Act.
I see that the BBC are still pushing the swine fever scare factor by explaining that: "The World Health Organization raises the alert over swine flu to level five - a strong signal a pandemic is imminent, it says." and pushing that: " Britain will see "many, many more cases" of swine flu but most people will recover, a chief government adviser says.". Of course the BBC are keen to reassure us that Gordon "Father of the Nation" Brown was taking "the precautions to prevent the incidence of this disease in this country".
Meanwhile in the Number 10 bunker do I detect the slight smell of urine as Gordon Brown gets excited at the prospect of being able to cancel postpone the June elections and maybe, just maybe, use the Civil Contingencies Act to keep his snotty little fingers on the levers of power.
The BBC are faithfully reporting the latest Swine Fever news as their main headline, ramping up the fear and maybe starting a panic. Meanwhile, I wonder if in Downing Street Gordon Brown and his officials are wondering how bad Swine Fever needs to get (or more accurately the fear of it needs to get) before they could use the Civil Contingencies Act to legitimise rule by decree and the suspension of democracy. I wonder if the mere thought of this untrammelled power soothes the brow of our otherwise stressed out Prime Minister. There are EU and local elections in just over a month; elections which Labour seem likely to do very badly in, elections which Gordon Brown may prefer to postpone for a while (maybe a long while). Could he?
The BBC are faithfully reporting that: "A new flu virus suspected of killing up to 81 people in Mexico has the potential to become a pandemic, the UN says. " and that:
"Health officials in the UK say they are closely monitoring the deadly outbreak of swine flu in Mexico and the US, amid fears of a potential pandemic.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said it was working with the government to assess any threat posed to public health in the UK.
It described the outbreak as "unusual" and warranting "further investigation and vigilance" by other countries."
Just as Tony Blair used Foot and Mouth as a reason to postpone local elections, is this Gordon Brown's chance to postpone the upcoming EU and local elections? Might a panic over this "pandemic" be reason enough to postpone a general election? Is the Civil Contingencies Act being readied for use? Is this the start of the end-game?

Of course the real truth is that attacks on Fred Goodwin and the threats against the City and its workers for 1 April are exactly what the Labour cabal want and need. The more blame they can lay on the bankers and the more hatred they can whip up against the bankers, the more attention is diverted from their rank incompetence, brazen lies and total mismanagement of the Country. And of course if the April protests turn into riots or worse then Gordon Brown, Jack Straw and Jacqui Smith have the Civil Contingencies Act ready and waiting to implement and turn the most hated government for many a year into a permanent government.
The G20 meeting is attracting just the sort of "persons", that you would expect, onto the streets of London and The International Herald Tribune reports that:
"The British police are preparing to deal with violent protests as anarchists threaten to bring chaos to the Group of 20 summit meeting in London.
All leave for police officers in the capital has been called off and businesses are being advised to cancel unnecessary meetings because protesters have vowed to target the financial district as the world leaders gather to discuss the financial crisis.
Previous world economic summit meetings and conferences have been targeted by anarchists, anti-globalization protesters and other groups. The police say they fear that the gathering April 2 in London, set against anger at the economic downturn, could provoke more violence.
Environmentalists, antiwar campaigners and protesters have already indicated that they would demonstrate April 1 as politicians and officials begin arriving in London.
A movement called "Storm the Banks" is circulating on the Internet indicating that anti-capitalist protesters are planning to focus their attention on the Bank of England during what some protesters have dubbed "Financial Fools Day.""
Some thoughts: 1. If you are a City worker I suggest 1 April and 2 April would be good days to take as holiday 2. If you are in charge of a City Bank's Disaster Recovery Plan, maybe the coming week would be a good time to check it all works 3. Don't forget that the last time the UK hosted such a gathering, the G8 in 2005, home-grown Islamic terrorist scum carried out suicide bombings on trains and a bus in London that killed 52 people and maimed and injured many more 4. Remember also that Gordon Brown's government are likely to be looking for an excuse to suspend democracy (utilising the Civil Contingency Act) and so put off the May local and June EU elections and a carefully engineered riot and terrorist atrocity really would help here
It looks as though we may have one week of sanity before London becomes an even more unpleasant place to live and work.
So to all of you who were taken in by Tony Blair's slick salesmanship in 1997, 2001 and 2005 and to all of you who believed that Gordon Brown was an economic genius rather than a weird control-freak who got lucky and still managed to screw up the Country beyond redemption - "Can you hear the drums?"

Of course being the BBC, the article is presented from the point of view that the British Army was at fault for "the troubles" and that it was the British Army that was the terrorists not the IRA and their ilk.
Of course no space is given to the notion that this deployment could be a testing of the waters ahead of bringing the army onto the streets of other UK cities. After all if the Special Reconnaissance Regiment is required to gather intelligence on dissident republicans in Northern Ireland might they not also be needed to gather information on dissident bloggers in the rest of the UK? The Civil Contingencies Act is being readied for implementation by the Labour, cornered, cabal that rule us and the army is being readied to clamp down on any protests. All you fools who voted Blair in 1997, are you ready to apologise now?
I have been warning for some time that this Labour government will happily use force against the public if the public dare to take protest against the Labour government's stupidity and totalitarian tendencies. Today I read a rather scary story in the PJC Journal, apparently:
"In a stunning conversation with a friend, who is a serving member of the Armed Forces, over the weekend, it was revealed that transfers to regiments and other units in the UK on home duties are being undertaken by the MOD based upon whether an individual was prepared to 'open fire' on UK citizens during civil disturbances.
I found this long and extracted conversation to be both bizarre and frightening. I will state at this point that he is someone that I have known for years, and trust implicitly. The fact that service personnel are actually being asked in special briefing sessions whether they would fire on their own nationals indicates that the rumours about the Army being put on standby are indeed very true."
The article continues to discuss equipment:
"As if to add weight to this, it was reported yesterday as a tag on a posting about UKIP by Richard North on EUReferendum that plans for Army involvement were well advanced:
Recently, from a confidential source, I received information that the MoD was buying up unusually large quantities of tear gas and other riot equipment. Clearly, it has no intention of being caught out, as it was at the beginning of the Troubles, having to ration tear gas and riot shields. Maybe they might even find a use for all those Snatch Land Rovers, when they are returned from Iraq.
The implications of putting the Army on the streets, though, are horrendous. Currently, the Army is riding on the crest of a wave of public approval but, as it did in Northern Ireland, sentiment can very quickly turn. The ramifications for the campaign in Afghanistan might be significant. An Army which is sent out against its own people is not likely to attract much support for its other activities.
But there is not much prospect of the Army disobeying orders. As we saw in the 2001 Foot and Mouth epidemic, it went to work with a will, engaging in illegal activities, intimidating ordinary people and conspiring with the civil authorities to enforce false arrest. It will do so again if ordered, with the back-up this time of the Civil Contingencies Act which makes legal much of what was illegal back in 2001.
It goes a long way to explain why our servicemen and women are not getting the equipment they need in the war zones, lack of transport, lack of helicopters, lack of personal protection equipment. We know for instance that there are several hundred Italian made soft personnel vehicles in storage in the UK for use here, bought by the MoD to replace the snatch Land Rovers, but never sent to Iraq or Afghanistan, and the fleet of 8 Chinooks that was due to be dispatched this month are now to be kept in the UK."

Before giving us this warning:
"Armed with this latest knowledge, I would advise extreme caution and suggest that we heed the words of warning from Leg-Iron.
If we don't riot, Labour are likely to be obliterated in a general election. If we do riot, there won't be one.
This Government is looking for a fight. Don't give it to them.
This trend needs to be discussed at the highest levels, the very idea that the Government is plotting against its own people is repugnant in the extreme, and I would like to call for confirmation that this disgusting process of briefings is indeed being undertaken."
All you people who scoff at the thought of the Labour using the CCA to postpone a general election, how sure are you now?
All you people who scoff at the thought of British bobbies using plastic bullets and tasers on the streets of London, Manchester and Liverpool, how sure are you now?
All you people who say that the army could never be brought onto the streets of our cities to keep "the mob" at bay, how sure are you now?
We are nearing the point where the UK economy takes a dive that even another £100 billion (or £200 billion or £300 billion) cannot delay and at that point with a bankrupt country, massive unemployment and easily provokable civil unrest; at that point how far will the desperadoes at the head of this Labour government be willing to go to keep power?
Anyone else fancy leaving the UK now?
Failing that who's for mass screenings of V for Vendetta, all in the cause of educating the masses as to the meaning of freedom?

A tricky question that has become even trickier with this Labour government who have governed as if they really were "the political wing of the British people". Take a look at the Real Help Now website which proudly proclaims as fact Gordon Brown's very controversial claim that:
"Many people are asking how we found ourselves in this economic crisis, how we are going to get out of it and what the future is going to hold. I want to explain to people how this crisis, which started in America, has developed - and reassure people that Britain can come out of this stronger and fairer than before."
Party propaganda or Government information?
Will we ever be able to rid ourselves of this Labour government? Why do I have the nasty feeling that we may not be allowed a general election? Why do I fear that any civil unrest will lead to this Labour government implementing the Civil Contingency Act so as to "postpone" elections, initially for a short time and then for the duration of the disturbances, disturbances that may last for a very very long time indeed?
"If we have a hot summer this year are you ready for the riots that will ensue on the streets of London, Liverpool and Manchester? Many people are angry and they will want to vent this anger. "
"Police are bracing themselves for a 'summer of rage' against the economic crisis, a senior officer warned today.
Superintendent David Hartshorn, who heads the Metropolitan Police's public order branch, said he feared there could be 'mass protest' at rising unemployment, failing financial institutions and the downturn in the economy.
The officer told The Guardian that 'known activists' were planning returns to the streets, and intelligence revealed that they may be able to call on more protesters than normal due to the unprecedented conditions.
He said: 'Those people would be good at motivating people, but they haven't had the "footsoldiers" to actually carry out (protests).
'Obviously the downturn in the economy, unemployment, repossessions, changes that. Suddenly there is the opportunity for people to mass protest.'
Mr Hartshorn, who is regularly briefed on potential causes of civil unrest, singled out April's G20 summit of the leading developed nations in London as one of the events that could kick start a series of protests.
'We've got G20 coming and I think that is being advertised on some of the sites as the highlight of what they see as a "summer of rage",' he said."
Of course there will be trouble, there are people in this Country who enjoy causing trouble and chaos. I expect banks and their staff to be targeted and the BBC to excuse the attacks by referring to excessive bonuses etc. The fact that most of the people who will be targeted will not have received a large bonus or any bonus at all will not matter to the professional agitators who infest this Country or their supporters in the BBC.
What one has to ask oneself is; how bad will the protesting have to get before the Labour government feel justified in implementing the Civil Contingency Act. As I blogged in January

There is much discussion this morning about Ed Balls' comments that the financial crisis will be "more extreme and more serious than that of the 1930s", that these were "seismic events that are going to change the political landscape" and that "we all remember how the politics of that era were shaped by the economy."
Something is missing though, people are not speculating as to where this is leading us. Is anyone thinking that Ed Balls has not spoken out of turn but is gently preparing the ground for what may be to follow? Has the decision been taken that rather than downplay the economic problems, maybe it would be best to exaggerate them? Are Labour so scared of losing the next general election that they are preparing us for the "need" to suspend democracy during this unprecedented time of national disaster? Is the Civil Contingency Act about to be used for its real, non-terrorism related, purpose? Is the EU project so nearly complete that just a small delay in the holding of a general election would mean that the UK will be forever bound into the EUSSR? Am I paranoid? Maybe but just look at the anti-democratic instincts of this Labour government and can you understand why?

So how will Labour respond? More vote-rigging using dodgy postal ballots and personation at the polling booths? Or will an excuse be found to indefinitely delay a general election under their handy Civil Contingency Act.
Assuming the Conservatives are allowed to win the next general election the incoming Conservative Government will inherit an appalling economic and social mess, even worse than in 1979, and the recovery will be long, slow and painful. The recession of the early 1980s was a direct result of the 1974-79 Labour government's mismanagement of the economy; this time Labour have had longer to screw things up but at least the recession has hit first during their term in office. All blame for the pain will be placed upon the shoulders of the Conservatives by Labour, the Unions and of course the BBC.
I have blogged several times about Gordon Brown's misleading "British jobs for British workers" promise and I have previously stated that whilst the population were willing to acquiesce in Labour's social engineering in good economic times, they would be less happy in a recession.
It looks as though the conditions for social unrest are getting closer and Gordon Brown is in a flap. He is trying to claim that when he said "British jobs for British workers" he actually meant that British workers would have the right to compete for British jobs; nobody believes him of course, people know a "Brownie" when they hear one. The conditions in many towns and cities across the UK soon to have 30%+ (or much higher) unemployment and people losing jobs to recent and longer-standing immigrants will be ripe for a breakdown in "social cohesion".
The current "wild cat" protests may spread and lead to petrol shortages and power cuts or they may peter out. However there will be another cause of "unrest" before too long and then another one and then another one and so on. Eventually one "cause" will reach the point of no return and the inner city riots of 1981 may be made to look like a picnic by what ensues.
