Where's the outrage in the United Nations or online?

Even the BBC are reporting that:
'A jihadist group in Syria has demanded that Christians in the northern city of Raqqa pay a levy in gold and accept curbs on their faith, or face death.

The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) said it would give Christian residents "protection" if they agreed to the list of conditions.

...

Correspondents say ISIS is trying to implement an extreme interpretation of Islamic law in areas it controls.

...

The directive from ISIS, citing the Islamic concept of "dhimma", requires Christians in the city to pay tax of around half an ounce (14g) of pure gold in exchange for their safety.

It says Christians must not make renovations to churches, display crosses or other religious symbols outside churches, ring church bells or pray in public.

Christians must not carry arms, and must follow other rules imposed by ISIS (also known as ISIL) on their daily lives.

The statement said the group had met Christian representatives and offered them three choices - they could convert to Islam, accept ISIS' conditions, or reject their control and risk being killed.

"If they reject, they are subject to being legitimate targets, and nothing will remain between them and ISIS other than the sword," the statement said.

A group of 20 Christian leaders chose to accept the new set of rules, ISIS said.

...

Many Christians fled after ISIS started attacking and burning churches. '

Several things strike me about this report:
1. Where are the human rights organisations protesting this attack on freedom of religion? The organisations that are always ready to condemn Israel for any perceived slight on Islam.
2. Where's the United Nations outrage?
3. Where's the headline news on the BBC or in The Guardian or Independent that would appear if Israel stopped one Muslim from worshipping exactly where he wanted?

The lack of outrage from the above organisations would almost make one believe that they were in some way biased against Israel.

"Only a small percentage"

I keep hearing that I shouldn't tar all Muslims with the same brush of intolerance, as "only a small percentage" hold extremist views...

A small percentage?

The world is upside down

'As things stand, the world remains upside down. The left rather than the right defends reactionary religion, as long as the reactionaries do not have a white skin. You should never tire of pointing out that they are complicit in an enormous betrayal of progressive principles. Women, gays, secularists, liberals and socialists from ethnic minorities ought to be able to turn to British liberals and leftists for support against the patriarchal men, who seek to control them. Rather than fraternal greetings, they find indifference and hostility.'

Antisemitism is the main obstacle to Israeli-Palestinian peace

'... in all too many mosques, schools and television programs across the Arab and Muslim world, the public is indoctrinated  with the most vile anti-Jewish bigotry. Hatred is idealized to a degree that the average American, and the average Israeli, cannot comprehend or imagine.'

I can comprehend this hatred, I see it far too often on Twitter and the Web.

Ken Livingstone, do you still think that Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi is "one of the most authoritative Muslim scholars in the world today" who "has done most to combat socially regressive interpretations of Islam on issues like women's rights and relations with other religions"?

I see that Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the man who Ken Livingstone defended and described as "one of the most authoritative Muslim scholars in the world today" who "has done most to combat socially regressive interpretations of Islam on issues like women's rights and relations with other religions"? has been at it again.

This time the delightful Qaradawi opined whilst in Gaza that "This land has never once been a Jewish land. Palestine is for the Arab Islamic nation,"

Factually incorrect but what do you expect from a man who has previously called for the death penalty for apostates

and describes homosexuality as 'a crime' for which people should be punished?

Sheikh al-Qaradawi also said the following in a speech by aired on Al-Jazeera on 30 January 2009.

"Throughout history, Allah has imposed upon the [Jews] people who would punish them for their corruption. The last punishment was carried out by Hitler. By means of all the things he did to them – even though they exaggerated this issue – he managed to put them in their place. This was divine punishment for them. Allah willing, the next time will be at the hand of the believers."

What do you have to say about your 'progressive' Islamist now Ken?

Do you still stand by this defence of Sheikh al-Qaradawi?

Seriously Ken Livingstone sickens me and I rejoice every day that he is no longer Mayor of London.

You can read more about Sheikh al-Qaradawi here. Maybe Ken Livingstone should look up the word of Taqqiya.

"It's alright, it's just rhetoric", "President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad didn't mean that Iran wants to wipe Israel off of the map"

"It's alright, it's just rhetoric" and "Ahmadinejad didn't mean that Iran wants to wipe Israel off of the map" are just two of the lines I hear from haters of Israel. Odd that as here's something that Ali Reza Forghani, a supporter of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and former governor of Kish province, published in an article titled "Countdown to an Attack on Israel". Here's an extract:
'Naturally, after that we must equip and upgrade the Syrian forces for the final blow against Israel, [a blow that will continue] until it is totally destroyed. We must in no way repeat the mistake of the Gaza [war] – accepting a ceasefire.'
...

'"Of course, the Allies in the Syria war perceive Israel's existence in the region in the same way – that is, that it conflicts with the existence of several governments and ideologies [in the region – i.e. those of Iran, Syria, and Hizbullah]. So, attacking and completely eradicating Israel from the planet is the only solution to this problem.'

Actually to be fair it's not just Israel that Iran's Islamist leaders want to destroy. Here's another extract:
'"Another important difference between World War II and the Syria war that will eventually lead to World War III, is the playing field. Unlike World War II, the Syria war began in a single country; the invading players [intend for it] to end in a second country, Iran.

...

"[Then] World War III will erupt... and that game will have no winners. Both sides will lose, because some countries on both sides have nuclear weapons. Once the war escalates, the threat of these weapons... will make the other side launch a nuclear war.

"So nothing can be expected but the destruction of all humanity. But even before nuclear weapons are used, World War III could cost more than five times as many lives as World War II – some 260 million."'
You can find much more of this material at MEMRI but almost certainly not on the BBC who ignore the fact that many of the Iranian leadership, including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, are believers in the coming of the 12th Imam. A brief explanation; according to Islamic belief, an Imam is an anointed leader or ruler. Amongst Shia Islamists, an Imam is believed to be a prayer leader or cleric who is anointed by the Islamic prophet Allah and a perfect example being able to lead mankind in every way. The 12th Imam, according to some Shia Muslims including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is a great spiritual saviour. This saviour has a name; Muhammad al Mahdi. This Mahdi was born around 868 A.D. but devout Shiites believe he continues to guide Muslims. Mahdi’s followers are often called ‘Twelvers’. Some devout Shiite Muslims believe him to be a direct descendant of the prophet Mohammed. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is seemingly, a deeply committed Shiite Muslim and has spoken often and openly about praying for the return al Mahdi, his saviour. He believes that the 12th Imam is coming soon and that he is the chosen one. Chosen by Allah himself to bring about the Mahdi’s return; which is to be hastened by creating chaos throughout the world.

So now do you see why people like I am concerned by President Ahmadinejad's desire for nuclear weapons. It's not just Israel that he wants to destroy, it really is everything!

Here's an anniversary that the BBC and others have forgotten

'Nov. 29, 1947 was the day the UN General Assembly passed the plan to recommend the partition the British Mandate of Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state. The Jews accepted the plan. The Arabs -- both local and regional - rejected it. The local Arabs who 25 years later became known as "Palestinians," responded to the passage of UNGA resolution 181 by launching a terror war against the Jews. Their war was commanded by Iraqi and Lebanese terror masters and supported by the British military and its Arab Legion from Transjordan.

...

On November 28, 1941 the religious and political leader of the Palestinian Arabs and one of the most influential leaders of the Arab world Haj Amin el Husseini met with Adolf Hitler in Berlin. Husseini had courted the Nazis since just after the Nazis rose to power in 1933. Husseini was forced to flee the British Mandate in 1937 when he expanded his fourth terror war against the Jews, that he began in 1936 to include the British as well.

He fled to Lebanon, and then in October 1939 he fled to Iraq. In April 1941 he fomented a pro-Nazi coup in Iraq. As the British -- with massive unheralded assistance from the Jews from the land of Israel -- were poised to enter Baghdad and restore the pro-British government, Husseini incited the Farhud, a 3-day pogrom against the Jews of Baghdad that took place over the festival of Shavuot. 150 Jews were murdered. A thousand were wounded and 900 Jewish homes were destroyed.

With the coup defeated and the Jews murdered, Husseini escaped to then pro-Nazi Iran and then in October to Germany by way of Italy. (He was flown out of Iran on an Italian Air Force plane, and feted by Mussolini when he landed in Rome).

He arrived in Berlin and two and a half weeks later he had a prolonged private meeting with Hitler. There, on November 28, 1941, two months before the Wannssee Conference, where the German high command received its first orders to annihilate European Jewry, Hitler told Husseini that he intended to eradicate the Jewish people from the face of Europe.

Husseini remained in Berlin through the end of the war and served as a Nazi agent. In Berlin he broadcast daily diatribes to the Arab world on German shortwave radio in Arabic. Specifically Husseini exhorted them to kill the Jews in the name of Allah and make common cause with the Nazis who would deliver them from the Jews, the British and the Americans.

In 1943 Husseini organized the Hazhar SS Division of Bosnian Muslims. His division carried out the massacre of 90 percent of the Bosnian Jewish community of 12,000.

In 1920 Husseini personally invented what later became known as the Palestinian national movement. He shaped its identity around the sole cause of destroying the Jewish presence in the land of Israel.

During the war Husseini used his broadcasts to shape the political and religious  consciousness of the Muslim world by fusing Islamic Jew hatred with annihilationist Nazi anti-Semitism. Whereas much of the Nazi anti-Semitic ideology was discredited in postwar Europe, it has remained the single most resonant theme of Arab politics since World War II.

In 1946, as his fellow Nazi war criminals were being tried in Nuremberg, Husseini made a triumphant return to Egypt where he was welcomed as a war hero by King Farouk, the Muslim Brotherhood and the young officers in the Egyptian army who fused Nazi national socialism with the Islamism of the Muslim Brotherhood and took over Egypt after deposing Farouk in 1951.

The founder of Palestinian nationalism's singleminded dedication to the genocide of Jewry brings us to the second notable but forgotten anniversary we passed over this month.'

Another result of the Arab Spring

Do you remember the BBC, and others, lauding the Arab spring and its bringing of democracy to swathes of the Middle East? Do you remember the BBC celebrating the victory of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt's elections?

It was obvious what the result of the Muslim Brotherhood coming to power in Egypt would be, a ramping up of the hatred of non-Muslims. The Copts, the Middle East's largest Christian denomination, are suffering and now I read that:
'For the first time in 2,000 years, there will be no Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur services at the Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue in Alexandria in 5773, reports Daniel Greenfield in “In The Point.”

This was the last active synagogue in Egypt. The Egyptian authorities’ excuse for the shut-down, effectively outlawing High Holiday services in the country, were “security” reasons.

Levana Zamir, head of the International Association of Egyptian Jews in Israel, said: “It seems this is really the end of Jewish life in Egypt. The authorities have found a way to take over the last Jewish bastion, since all the remaining synagogues are already archaeological and tourist sites. It is very sad.”

This is yet another example of the fact that Jewish life is becoming extinct in the Muslim world.'
I wonder if the BBC will report this piece of news from Egypt. If they do, will they find a way to blame it on Israel?

This is the truth of the matter, whilst the BBC and others on the fascist left of British politics and society decry Israel  as an 'apartheid state', they ignore the real apartheid states that surround it. In Israel there is freedom of religious worship for all religions. In Jerusalem itself, the capital of the Jewish state for millenia, Muslims worship at their mosques built on top of the ruins of the Jewish temples. Israel cedes control, of the holiest site in Judaism, to Islam and the reward is to be called an apartheid state. Meanwhile the last synagogue in Egypt is shutdown and not a word of protest is uttered, nor do the BBC even cover the story.

The blood libel reprised

That's Saudi Cleric Salman Al-Odeh, a well-known scholar revered by millions of Muslims around the world, who recently went on a lengthy tirade against the Jews stating that "the role of the Jews is to wreak destruction, to wage war, and to practice deception and extortion,"
Another Islamic preacher who openly preaches hatred for and lies about the Jews.

Some more news that will be of no interest to the BBC

ME Forum report that:
'According to several Arabic news sources, last Monday, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, declared that it is "necessary to destroy all the churches of the region."

The Grand Mufti made his assertion in response to a question posed by a delegation from Kuwait: a Kuwaiti parliament member recently called for the "removal" of churches (he later "clarified" by saying he merely meant that no churches should be built in Kuwait), and the delegation wanted to confirm Sharia's position on churches.

Accordingly, the Grand Mufti "stressed that Kuwait was a part of the Arabian Peninsula, and therefore it is necessary to destroy all churches in it."

As with many grand muftis before him, the Sheikh based his proclamation on the famous tradition, or hadith, wherein the prophet of Islam declared on his deathbed that "There are not to be two religions in the [Arabian] Peninsula," which has always been interpreted to mean that only Islam can be practiced in the region.

While the facts of this account speak for themselves, consider further:

Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah is not just some random Muslim hating on churches. He is the Grand Mufti of the nation that brought Islam to the world. Moreover, he is the President of the Supreme Council of Ulema [Islamic scholars] and Chairman of the Standing Committee for Scientific Research and Issuing of Fatwas. Accordingly, when it comes to what Islam teaches, his words are immensely authoritative.'
It seems that whilst we in the West have to tiptoe around Islam's presence in the West for fear of being called Islamophobic or racist, one of the most senior Islamic scholars and authorities feels able to be at the best less than helpful towards non-Muslims in the Arabian peninsular and at the worst incite people to attack and destroy churches in the Arabian peninsular.

So when an obscure American pastor says he will burn a Koran the world's media, including (indeed especially) the BBC, flood the airwaves and Internet with accusations of hate-speech, Islamophobia and more. Yet when a senior (maybe the senior) Islamic cleric declares that it is "necessary to destroy all the churches of the region", not a word on the BBC or any other mainstream Western media. Why the difference in reporting?

The eyes have it

I wasn't going to comment on the Saudi Arabian decision this week that women with attractive eyes in Saudi Arabia may be forced to cover them up, according to the spokesperson of the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (CPVPV) in the conservative Gulf kingdom. A spokesman of the Ha’eal district, Sheikh Motlab al-Nabet said the committee has the right to stop a women whose eyes seem “tempting” and order her to cover them immediately.

I wasn't going to comment on the ruling as it was so obviously ridiculous and typical of the vile brand of Islamist theology that infects that country but then Alex Masterley reminded me of what the Saudi Arabian Islamist's views on the 'virtue' of women has led to in the past:
'In 2002, the committee refused to let female students out of their burning schools in Mecca for “not wearing the proper head cover,” which contributed to a large number of dead. 15 young girls died in the fire and dozens more were injured. The CPVPV men banned the firemen and policemen from accessing the girls as “it is not okay for girls to be seen without their full Islamic dress in front of strangers.”'
I just couldn't let that go unmentioned on this blog.

Boris Johnson's a fool

'Boris Johnson's a fool' - so I hear many lefties say. Well I say, better a fool than a vile excuse for a human like Ken Livingstone...

On Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi

Fine words Ken but you know what taqqiya and doublespeak are, don't you?
In case you really don't, here's Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi in his own words

On Christmas

Contrast this with how Britain, Europe and the rest of the Western Christian world is told to accommodate the religion of Islam

On justifying suicide bombs (from 2:15)

On the Jews and Hitler and his hope for the future

What do you have to say about those comments by the man you have invited to London and described as representing 'a more progressive strand of Islam than the Wahhabi sect'? Actually Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi may well be more moderate than the Wahhabi Islamists but that is a question of degree of extermism.

Here's Peter Tatchell on Ken Livingstone and his views of Islamists

So when leftists attack Boris Johnson for being a fool, remember who Ken Livingstone has allied himself with and vote accordingly next year. Ken Livingstone has made his choices and hopes to benefit from the large Muslim vote in London as a result. Let's hope that decent people of London of whatever religion, or none, stand up for the rights of the followers of religions other than Islam as well as homosexuals, etc. In fact for all those people the man Ken Livingstone called moderate wishes harm to.

Ken Livingstone is an unredeemed socialist, a former associate of some of the murderers in the IRA, as well as a recent inviter and defender of an Islamist extremist to speak in London. Let's make sure Ken Livingstone never gets his hands on any of the levers of power by being re-elected to bring more shame on this great city.

As an aside it was the same Al-Qaradawi who led the prayer in Egypt's Tahrir Square following the revolution. The same Al Qaradawi who the BBC represent as being a moderate Muslim leader and who will figure somehow in the future leadership of Egypt; a man who supports suicide bombing of Israel.

The sort of people that make my blood boil

On Canadian TV Michael Coren and David ? take on Krisna Saravanamutta and Marilyn ? The ignorance and doublespeak employed by the left is right on display and I love the horror expressed when David ? uses the word Islamophobia.

Here's another piece of Michael Coren video this time "Is it about Islam" and he obviously knows more than his guest Andrea Calver on this matter as well about Sudan and elsewhere. Michael Coren's points about the difference between India and Pakistan are also well made.

Finally here is Michael Coren interviewing Mark Steyn about his book 'America Alone' and the fraud of multiculturalism. It's odd to see Mark Steyn being given a non confrontational interview, rather refreshing...
