Behind their back - A six year anniversary

I have come across this video which shows David Cameron sneakily popping a mint into his mouth during yesterday's Budget announcement by George Osborne

Ifyou want to understand the difference between this Prime Minister and the last, the lamentable Gordon Brown, here's Gordon Brown having a sneaky bogey nibble during a Tony Blair PMQs from 21 March 2007

David Cameron eats mints to keep his breath fresh, Gordon Brown....

And just imagine the state of the back of Gordon Brown's tie.

I feel unwell

"There may have been something sticky on his hands but it was only for a few seconds that he touched the prime minister"
Do you really want to learn more?

The above quotation is from a piece on the BBC website and has some more interesting quotes amongst the levity.
"A campaigner against Heathrow Airport's third runway has attempted to glue himself to Gordon Brown at a Downing Street reception."
Seems a rather foolhardy act, did he know when Gordon Brown last washed his hands?

"Dan Glass, a member of Plane Stupid, was about to receive an award from the prime minister when he stuck out his superglued hand and touched his sleeve.

Plane Stupid says Mr Glass, from north London, then "glued his hand" to Mr Brown's jacket as he shook his hand.

But Downing Street said there had been "no stickiness of any significance".
"No stickiness of any significance"? If this was Superglue then it is not a great advertisement for their product.

...

"Downing Street confirmed an exchange had taken place but denied that Mr Glass had glued himself to the prime minister.

"There may have been something sticky on his hands but it was only for a few seconds that he touched the prime minister," a spokesman said. "There was no stickiness of any significance."

He added: "This was certainly not seen as a serious protest. It was very light-hearted. This was not a serious incident."

I am trying to picture the scene, Gordon Brown goes to shake hands in his very natural way with a member of the public and the member of the public tries to grab hold of his jacket sleeve so as to glue himself to it...

"Speaking afterwards, Mr Glass said: "My left hand was covered in superglue and I stuck it to his sleeve.

"I just glued myself to him and after 20 seconds he tore my hand off - it really hurt. He had to give it a couple of tugs before it came away."
So the Downing Street spokesman said the incident lasted "only for a few seconds" whilst Mr Glass said it lasted "20 seconds" before his hand was torn away from the Prime Ministerial jacket. A wise move to choose the jacket and not the tie as we know what Gordon stores on the back of his ties...

"He was just grinning about it. He didn't seem to take me seriously."
No Mr Glass that's Gordon Brown's set expression when meeting "ordinary folk", he thinks it shows that he has a cheery disposition - he is so wrong.

Now here is the best line -
"The Metropolitan Police said there had been no breach of security."
Now why does that not surprise me? A man superglues himself to the Prime Minister using glue smuggled into Number 10 in his underwear, but there was no breach in security. I wonder what would constitute a breach in security? I drove near Whitehall today and saw the armed police that are now a familiar part of the London scene. I t would appear that they are very happy to carry arms and look "hard", but less happy to acknowledge breakdowns in their security systems.

Gordon Brown, consulting the public and other matters

The great nose picker has decided to announce a legislative programme in the Commons rather than wait for the Queens Speech in October/November and has placed great store on "consulting the people". Do you think he will allow us to fulfil our "aspirations" over a referendum on the EU Treaty and allow us to be consulted via a referendum?

I was just listening to Gordon Brown rabbiting on to John Humphreys on the Today programme about how much he wants to listen to the British public. Apparently all that happened under Tony Blair is in the past and that we are now in a new age and have started all over again. Sounds as though calling Gordon Brown Stalinist may be a little out, this is year zero, Pol Pot may be closer to the mark.

Apparently Gordon wants to make houses more affordable, not just for first time buyers but also those who want to move houses. Maybe the clunking fist shouldn't have raised stamp duty by so much, that has reduced the supply of houses as well as reduced mobility of labour; of course it has also increased government revenues.

Good grief, John Humphreys has actually raised the 600,000 immigrants question regarding housing demand but Gordon Brown has totally ignored it and John Humphreys has not really tried to make him answer it, I don't think his heart is in it. Gordon Brown has as usual tried to avoid answering any difficult questions but his style of just talking over the interviewer and talking without pausing is already irritating me and will irritate many others soon I am sure. Gordon Brown has another problem when being interviewed; when Tony Blair was being disingenuous there was no difference in tone or speed of his speech (probably because he could manage to persuade himself that he was telling the truth because he was a pretty straight guy). When Gordon Brown starts to move onto areas that he doesn't want to answer honestly, he starts to suffer from pauses appearing in his speech patterns and then moves onto talking in endless sentences without pauses or noticeable pauses for breathing. His last answer this morning went on so long that the original question about the invasion of Iraq increasing terrorist activity in Britain became long forgotten.

Gordon Brown - lest we forget the nose picking and bogey eating

I was looking through my blog to find the video of Gordon Brown picking his nose and eating his findings during PMQs some months back as I wanted to add this still

and I found that it was in a rather lengthy article about BBC Bias. So for anyone who wants to be reminded of Gordon Brown's finest hour and since the BBC won't ever show this video unlike the one of John Redwood not singing Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau, you can see the video here and here.
