Labour votes in marginals collapsing

The Mail reports that:
"Support for Labour in 30 key 'swing seats' across Britain has evaporated, an opinion poll revealed yesterday.

In another blow to Gordon Brown's premiership, the survey of crucial marginal constituencies put the Tories on 41 per cent, the LibDems on 18 and Labour on 17.

When a similar exercise was carried out a year ago, Labour held a six-point lead over David Cameron's party."

So how will Labour respond? More vote-rigging using dodgy postal ballots and personation at the polling booths? Or will an excuse be found to indefinitely delay a general election under their handy Civil Contingency Act.

Assuming the Conservatives are allowed to win the next general election the incoming Conservative Government will inherit an appalling economic and social mess, even worse than in 1979, and the recovery will be long, slow and painful. The recession of the early 1980s was a direct result of the 1974-79 Labour government's mismanagement of the economy; this time Labour have had longer to screw things up but at least the recession has hit first during their term in office. All blame for the pain will be placed upon the shoulders of the Conservatives by Labour, the Unions and of course the BBC.

Margaret "Caravan" Becket in the 1pm R4 programme stated the Conservatives did nothing in the last recession and is taking political advantage of the government in this recession / depression. She is obviously on Fuller's Earth not this one if she believes the UK public will even consider this.
