The BBC go all "Kevin the Teenager" this morning

One piece on the BBC today programme this morning just before 08:00 had the odd echo of Harry Enfield's Kevin the Teenager as it pointed out just how unfair it was that The Sun was using Mrs Janes' story to maximise embarrassment to Gordon Brown. I gasped at their cheek when they said this as I don't remember any similar worries when the papers and the BBC lead almost every news bulletin in the last months of the John Major government with stories of scandals; scandals that pale into insignificance compared with what Labour ministers have managed to do with far less censure since 1997. I don't seem to remember the BBC pointing out how the spin team of Mandelson and Campbell managed the news grid from 1995-2000 so closely that the news was generally defined by Labour.

Oddly this piece is missing from the Today Programme running order and the full listen again for today's programme is not up yet.
