"Labour accuses the BBC of going soft on Cameron"

The Daily Mail report one of the most astounding claims I have heard for a long time. It appears that "The Labour Party has accused the BBC of bias towards the Tories. An official complaint has been lodged, claiming Radio 4's Today programme has given David Cameron an easy ride in recent interviews. A senior party official accused the broadcaster of coming to a "special arrangement" with the Conservatives to avoid any "difficult questioning" of the Tory leader."

I think this translates as "we are upset that the Today programme allowed David Cameron any time to express an opinion. Why wasn't Humphries or Naughtie slapping him around like they are meant to."

Gordon Brown likes the Today programme to explain the full wonderfulness of his plans and accomplishments and normally they oblige.

It is also possible that this "complaint" has been lodged to forestall any such claims that might more justifiably be made by the Conservatives.
