A parallel system of Sharia law

The use of Sharia law in the UK as a parallel system of law has been suggested by many, possibly including the Archbishop of Canterbury. For this reason, this article in AKI struck me as apposite "A man and a woman have been stoned to death by militants in Pakistan's north-west border region after an Islamic 'qazi' court found them guilty of adultery.

A qazi court is an Islamic court, parallel to the Pakistani judicial system."
