Suspicious?

Can you see why the Police thought that someone wearing this rucksack was worthy of investigation? Would it increase your suspicions if they were of dark complexion?

The BBC seem to be portraying this incident as some sort of racist act.

Read the whole of the article and see if you agree with me that it probably was quite scary for BBC Radio Stoke's Max Khan but that the Police were not to know that "He was on his way back from a story about the recently-moved Post Office and carrying a backpack containing equipment that is regularly used to allow reporters to broadcast from locations around the city centre."

If I saw someone with a rucksack with protruding cables and aerials I too would be suspicious.

Mr Khan is reported to have said "It seems somewhat basic to be treated in that way just because of the colour of your skin." No, Mr Khan you were treated that way because you were carrying a rucksack with cables and aerials protruding from it. Can you possibly understand why that might raise suspicions? Have you heard of the 7 July bombings? Are you following the current terrorist story?

I was going to post a link to the current trial of the men accused of plotting to blow up planes flying from London to the US and Canada but cannot find the story on the BBC news main pages, the story about Mr Khan is the third lead story.

Priorities BBC, priorities....
