Friends and fellow-travelers?

The Telegraph report that:
"While private companies cancel their Christmas parties, Cabinet ministers continue to entertain in style. Mandrake learns that Andy Burnham, the Culture Secretary, spent almost £50,000 on providing hospitality for just 20 guests, who included Mark Thompson, the director general of the BBC, and Andy Duncan, the Channel 4 boss. "
Why won't the papers realise how important it is for Labour ministers to keep the media on-side in these difficult times. How else can a hard-working Labour government assure themselves of the support of enough of the population to keep Labour in power if the media are not kept informed, fed and watered.
