"brink of the abyss"

Greece's President Karolos Papoulias has warned that Greece was on the "brink of the abyss" just hours before the parliament was due to vote on the austerity measures and as it emerged that three bank workers had died in a petrol bomb attack.

Everyone in the UK needs to realise that we too are are on the brink of an abyss and that the election of a Labour government would just deepen that abyss.
