Reporting the hate of the left and the right

The The shooting of Gabrielle Gifford as I blogged yesterday has exposed the double standards of left-wing politicians and media. There is so much to say about this but I have read so many articles that say it better than I could:

1. Autonomous Mind makes some excellent points, including this one:

'The target of the attack, Rep. Giffords, was the kind of Democract who appealed to a large number of Republicans, being (as Harnden points out) a deficit hawk, someone who voted to lift the ban on guns in Washington DC and who voted against Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House. If anything, Rep. Giffords created more anger among Democrats than Republicans, which is why a blogger at the left wing DailyKos blog said that Giffords was ‘dead to me‘ for failing to back Pelosi.'

2. Samizdata contrasts the writing of Michael Tomasky in The Guardian where he sees 'some kind of connection between that violent rhetoric and what happened in Arizona on Saturday' with his writing when Major Nidal Hasan murdered thirteen people and attempted to murder many others 'We have much more to learn about Hasan before we can jump to any conclusions.'

4. Guido Fawkes contrasts the Guardian leader that lambasted the violent rhetoric they claim is to blame for the tragic shootings in Tuscon with the lack of concern when they printed a picture of a hanging effigy of Nick Clegg taken outside the Guardian’s King Cross HQ.
