UK stock markets close at a record high

Anyone who relied solely on the BBC for their economic news and analysis might be excused feeling a little confused by today's news about the UK stockmarkets:

'UK stock markets climbed to new highs on the final day of trading for 2017.

Both the FTSE 100 index of leading blue chip companies and the FTSE 250 reached new records at the close of trading.

US stock markets have also hit new peaks over the year, helped by Donald Trump's sweeping tax reforms.

Stephen Eckett, author of the annual Harriman Stock Market Almanac, said: "All the dangers that were anticipated with a Trump administration haven't materialised."'

The BBC expend/expended so much effort telling the British people what a disaster for the British economy Brexit would be, and indeed has been. Yet the UK stock markets are at all time high, how can that be?

Likewise President Donald Trump has been vilified all but daily by the BBC,  who have warned of the disaster that the US economy is heading for, and yet the US stock markets are also at record highs, how can that be?

It's almost as though the BBC have been misleading the British public about Brexit and President Donald Trump.

More BBC reportage here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-42512023 but I'm sure that the BBC will be back reporting on the twin disasters that are Brexit and President Donald Trump before long.
