Venezuela’s Socialist President Dines At World-Famous Steakhouse While His Citizens Starve per The Daily Caller

The Daily Caller reports http://dailycaller.com/2018/09/18/nicolas-maduro-steakhouse-salt-bae/ that:

'Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro drew international criticism after a recording surfaced Monday of him eating steaks and smoking cigars at a world-famous steak restaurant in Turkey.

Maduro said he had a "good time" being served by celebrity chef Nusret Gokce, dubbed "Salt Bae," at the Nusr-Et steakhouse in Istanbul. His visit to the upscale restaurant comes as nearly two-thirds of Venezuelans have reported losing significant amounts of weight amid an ever-worsening food crisis.'

Not a word of on the Socialist loving BBC and certainly no comment by the Labour Party's leaders and lead functionaries such as Jeremy Corbyn, John Mcdonnell, Diane Abbott or Seamus Milne - how curious.

'Celebrity biographer Jerry Oppenheimer reported that the night Bill unexpectedly lost his 1974 Arkansas congressional seat bid, Hillary shrieked at his campaign manager, "you fucking Jew bastard."'

That's an interesting chart to choose

The BBC's report on Professor Brian Cox's appearance on Australian TV was accompanied by a deliberately chosen still of the aforementioned celebrity scientist holding up a graph showing rising temperatures.

That's an interesting graph as I have seen another version... Here shown superimposed onto Brian Cox's photo

What's sauce for the goose... The hypocrisy of Charlotte Church - (NSFW language)

I spotted this tweet from Charlotte Church this morning

Hold on I thought, some of Charlotte Church's tweets since the referendum result have previously crossed my timeline and they've been rather abusive of people of different opinions to her own.

Calling Nigel Farage a 'piece of shit' - I'd say that was abusive.
Speculating as to what type of 'fucking looney tune' would replace Nigel Farage as leader of Ukip - I'd say that was abusive.
Comparing Nigel Farage to the devil - I'd say that was abusive.

Previously there was this tweet and retweet

Calling the Conservative government 'bastards' - I'd say that was abusive.
Calling Tories 'weasels' - I'd say that was abusive.

And finally...

Calling Nigel Farage a 'cunt' - I'd say that was abusive too.

So it seems that Charlotte Church is happy to call people that she disagrees with 'weasels', 'bastards', a 'fucking looney tune', 'the devil', a 'piece of shit' and a 'cunt' but she's somehow shocked when she receives abuse in return.

The joys of being a self-obsessed hypocritical celebrity?

Yoko Ono: “I Had an Affair with Hillary Clinton in the ’70s” per World News Daily Report

More news that won't make the BBC...
'Yoko Ono shocked reporters yesterday when she responded to a question concerning the presidential run of Hillary Clinton and the possibility that she could become the first woman President of the United States in American history.

The artist and widow of John Lennon, who is in Los Angeles to present a collection of cups and saucers she is exhibiting at the Museum of Modern Art, totally took reporters by surprise by admitting she had not only met the former First Lady at various times during a series of protests against the Vietnam War in New York in the 1970s but also knew her "intimately".

The celebrity admitted laughingly to having "a fling" with her at the time... '

If there was even a rumour of a lesbian fling in the past of a Republican candidate or leading figure then the BBC would be all over this story, however as this is Hillary Clinton, the BBC will ignore it.

Will there be tears for Peaches Geldof from Richard Bacon today?

Will there be tears for Peaches Geldof from Richard Bacon today? If there are then maybe you should watch this video as well... Can I suggest that from 2:48 would be the most illuminating.

It's from the BBC's Most Annoying Person list for 2010 - Peaches Geldof. What's that you're saying Richard Bacon?

"No matter how much we might want Peaches to go away"

Hmmm, want to retract those unfortunate words now, Richard Bacon? I'm sure you just meant you wanted her to disappear from the public eye, but even so... a tad unfortunate given what's happened?

As I Tweeted yesterday, Peaches Geldof's death is a tragedy for her family and friends but should not have been the top news story on the BBC news last night. Celebrity deaths are given way too much attention in our celebrity obsessed culture.

BBC News - MP David Lammy apologises for BBC Pope race 'innuendo' claim

'A Labour MP has apologised for claiming the BBC made a "silly innuendo about the race" of the next Pontiff.

David Lammy was commenting on a BBC Twitter message, which asked "will smoke be black or white?".

Mr Lammy, tweeting from the Commons chamber, said the BBC message was "crass and unnecessary".
He later apologised after Twitter users pointed out the role played by black and white smoke in announcing the election of a new Pope.'
More here at the BBC

Is David Lammy really that ignorant?

Well you could take this into account, David Lammy on Celebrity Mastermind...

 More here.

Remember this dolt was the last Labour government's Minister for Higher Education. Just about sums up the last Labour government...

A Rule 5 Saturday Night Post - especially for Grant

Last week's Rule 5 post left one of my regular readers less than happy:
'Too skinny for me , I'm afraid. Give me a big , black girl any day !!!'
So here's something hopefully more to Grant's tastes:

Grace Jones

Angel Davies

Kimiko from Outaroad where there are plenty of Jamaican Myspace models to peruse, some showing rather more of their attributes than I choose to show on this blog

Finally Tyra Banks

Talking of Tyra Banks, she seems to be the subject of a lot of faked porn photos, two of which you can find
at CelebrityFakesList which claims to be 'the biggest fake celebrity archive on the net'. Apparently Tyra Banks has never posed naked, so this nipple slip link may be of interest...

And because I like to include some video in Rule 5 posts, here's Grace Jones - 'My Jamaican Guy'

and Tyra Banks telling people to "Kiss her fat ass'

I hope that this post was more to Grant's liking; after all with this blog, I aim to please!

Some mistake surely (part 2)

This Double Viking site appeared after a browse of Guyism and the promise at the top of the site seems to pretty much disproved by one of the sections below.
'This is Double Viking's personal collection of hot girls in the wild. We do not host any images of celebrities, models or magazine scans. Only 100% real girl next door types.'
Anna Kournikova is surely a celebrity and a model, well she's not a tennis player any more, and if she's the girl next door then she must have moved in very recently!

Anyway Anna Kournikova turned 30 on Tuesday, so Happy Birthday Anna.

Interesting woman Anna Kourikova; body of a model, face of Boris Yeltsin.

Two sporting legends in one week - RIP Henry Cooper and Seve Ballesteros

What a terrible week for sporting heroes. First Henry Cooper a man who I grew up admiring, probably the first boxer apart from Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali that I ever heard of. A skillful and hard hitting boxer, who should have beaten Cassius Clay in 1963 and would have done had the counting out rules then allowed people to be literally 'saved by the bell'. In fact I believe he would have knocked Cassius Clay out in the fifth had Angelo Dundee not pulled that stunt with the ripped glove and administered illegal smelling salts. Cooper's fights with Joe Bugner are part of the mythology of British boxing; "Enry's 'Ammer" versus passivity. A British sporting great and a man loved by the British people in a time before the cult of celebrity became all encompassing, Henry Cooper will be missed.

And here's some video of the fourth and fifth rounds of that fight with Cassius Clay - look out for the left hook and the cut glove.

Seve Ballesteros, what can I say? A genius with a golf club. With Seve it is individual shots that I remember, so here's just one...

At the French Open a shot off his knees through the trees at the 6th hole.

And here's a tribute video

Seve winner of five Majors between 1979 and 1988, including three Open Championships and two Masters. Seve was also a great Ryder Cup captain and player. To call Seve not the greatest driver in the world would hardly be controversial but his short game and enthusiasm for golf and life will live on in my memory.

Henry Cooper and Seve Ballesteros, RIP.

Andrew Marr - oh dear

The news that Andrew Marr has decided to become the first public figure to voluntarily admit previously trying to conceal his infidelity via a super-injunction/gagging order comes as no real surprise. I doubt that there were many people who if interested had not managed to discover who the male celebrity, previously only hinted at in news reports, was. Andrew Marr managed to impose a High Court injunction in January 2008 so as to suppress any reporting of a relationship with a fellow journalist five years earlier. At the time Andrew Marr believed he had fathered a child with the woman and so was making maintenance payments. A fairly recent DNA test showed that he was not in fact the girl's father. Private Eye has dropped heavy hints in the past, indeed the current issue continues that pattern, and I believe was planning to challenge the injunction.

Now Andrew Marr has made the odd comment that "I did not come into journalism to go around gagging journalists"; but that is just what you did do Andrew.

However I am not really concerned by Andrew Marr's private life, his infidelity, his mistress or his love-child (or not). I am more concerned by the way that a former member of the Socialist Campaign for a Labour Victory whilst at Cambridge University, a former self-confessed 'raving leftie' nicknamed 'Red Andy' and the current husband of the political journalist at the left-wing Guardian Jackie Ashley has become one of the chief political interviewers at the 'impartial' BBC.

Andrew Marr's infidelities and gagging orders are of no real interest to me but his blatant pro-Labour/anti-Conservative bias in interviews is. Here is what I wrote in June 2010:
'Here is the text of a complaint that I have just lodged at the BBC Trust's complaint's page re the bias shown by Andrew Marr in his interviews with the three main party leaders:

'... Andrew Marr's interview with Gordon Brown broke down between subjects thus:
Hung parliaments, campaign, the Queen - 12m 18s (48.5%)
Immigration - 5m 21s (21%)
Bankers - 3m 11s (12.5%)
Ash cloud - 2m 40s (10.5%)
Afghanistan - 1m 56s (7.5%)
Cuts, deficit - 0 m 0s (0%)

Andrew Marr's interview with Nick Clegg broke down between subjects thus:
Hung parliaments, Clegg personally - 11m 7s (49.7%)
Immigration - 7m 32s (33.7%)
Trident - 3m 42s (16.6%)
Cuts, deficit - 0m os (0%)

Andrew Marr's interview with David Cameron broke down between subjects thus:
Cuts, deficit - 15m 26s (67%)
Priorities - 3m 20s (14.5%)
Hung parliament, campaign - 3 m 0s (13%)
Living Wage - 1m 18s (5.5%)

So Andrew Marr spent 2/3 of the whole interview discussing with David Cameron a subject that he chose not to raise with Nick Clegg and Gordon Brown at all. If the subject of 'cuts' was so important as to warrant 2/3 of the interview with David Cameron, why was it not important enough to raise with Gordon Brown or Nick Clegg? Does Andrew Marr believe that only the Conservatives will make cuts or is that just the perception he would like to leave viewers with?

Andrew Marr's position as one of the BBC's lead interviewer is compromised by such blatant bias; what action will the BBC Trust take against him now that you have proof of his anti-Conservative bias?

The percentages are sourced from http://beebbiascraig.blogspot.com/2010/05/more-on-marr.html - If you disagree with the figures, do please correct them.'
You can read about the BBC's response and my response to that here.

Anyway now that Andrew Marr has decided to come clean about his personal life do you think he will do the same about his political bias?

Sunday evening catchup

Too many open tabs in Firefox awaiting proper attention but somehow I don't think i will have time so:

1) Giles Coren asks 'So why is it all right for women to be sexist about MEN?'. It's a long article resulting from the Andy Gray/Richard Keys Sky Sports story, here's one perinent extract:
'To be a man in this country is constantly to have to apologise for oneself and to be ever so very careful about every sentence we speak or write which contains any reference at all to members of the opposite sex.

While at the same time, and this is the shame of it, we ourselves are fair game for women. While sexism from men is the outstanding social crime of the modern world, women can say absolutely whatever they like about us.

For make no mistake: sexism is alive and well in this country and applauded in all quarters — as long as it is practised by women. And they are allowed to say the most terrible, terrible things.

Only last week, for example, Jo Brand, the newly crowned Best Female TV Comic at the British Comedy Awards, was on Have I Got News For You and replied to the question ‘What’s your favourite kind of man, Jo?’ by saying: ‘A dead one.’ Oh, how the audience fell about. And the other contestants, all male, chortled away too.

I’m not saying it wasn’t funny. I’m just saying we live in a world where the thorough-going awfulness, uselessness and superfluity of the male sex is such a given, that a frontline television comic can get big laughs by saying she’d prefer it if we were all dead.'

2) The Telegraph
'A Polish MP has been forced to apologise after he criticised the prospect of gay men getting married but said he would "gladly watch lesbians". '

3) Harry's Place reports the words of Tariq Ramadan:
"Allah we ask you because you are Allah, strengthen the faith of our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Allah strengthen their faith in Palestine and make them triumphant over the enemy, Your enemy, the enemy of the religion (Islam) with your mercy, oh, Generous one. Allah strengthen their faith in Palestine, in Chechnya, Afghanistan, in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, in Egypt, Sudan, Kashmir and in every land and on every battlefield. Allah, strike our enemies, Your enemies, the enemies of the religion (Islam)."
Ah the religion of peace...

4) Corpus Libris has a fantastic theme 'Books and the Bodies that love them' - Great imagination.

5) MEMRI report on 'British Islamist Kamal Al-Hilbawi and Liberal Nabil Yassin Debate: Are Israeli Children Legitimate Military Targets?' - Thatthe question can even be asked sums up so much of what I find repulsive about Islamic extremists.

6) The National Post have a report by Kevin Libin: 'Consensus on global warming challenged'; here's an extract:
'a book critic in the Boston Globe mentioned in passing the “scientific consensus that the world may be heading toward a climate Armageddon if nothing is done to reverse the present course.” And in the National Post, the executive director for the Ontario advocacy group, People for Education, asserted: “There’s no longer a debate around how much conservation is needed about what we’ve done to our atmosphere.” None of these people were actual scientists, yet this language of “consensus” about dangerous global warming has become accepted wisdom.

“It’s laziness. An urban legend,” says Mr. Harris, director of the International Climate Science Coalition, a league of researchers who maintain that the science of climate is copiously unsettled and, therefore, caution against premature policy prescriptions to address it. “You can say thousands of scientists agree, and then you don’t have to get into the actual facts.”

Since there has, Mr. Harris points out, never been any global poll of scientists to assess the unanimity of views on the scale and threat of environmental impacts, such claims are dubious enough. But, he notes, even among scientific groups whose leaders publicly and broadly endorse the findings of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that human activities are driving ruinous climate shifts, there’s no evidence of consensus from their own membership. One news story in 2009, for instance, suggested that “3,000 scientists” had called on the federal government in an open letter to take immediate action in curtailing carbon emissions. But among the members of the Canadian Geophysical Union, one of the organizations represented by the letter, a low response rate had only 28% of members explicitly declaring themselves behind the statement.'

7) The Mail poses 'One question the BBC never asks' The article starts:
'Even by the sorry standards of the BBC – apologist-in-chief for the bloated public sector – the past few days have been vintage.

On reducing police numbers, selling off forests, the end of the Big Society, library closures – you name it – critic after critic has been wheeled out to prophesy that the Government’s cuts will mean the death of civilisation as we know it.

What the Corporation never points out is that over the past few years, the private sector has already had to go through considerable pain, with employees’ wages frozen or cut and their pensions decimated.'

8) Right Truth provocatively says 'If you don't want your daughters Westernized ... ... Don't move to Western civilized nations!'

Here's an extract:
'Muslims move to Western nations and bring their extended families. Unlike other immigrants who came here looking to be a part of American culture and a better life for their families, many Muslim immigrants come here planning to maintain their native culture and change America. "Americans, like Europeans, are now experiencing a new kind of immigrant, one for whom tribal, cultural, or ethnic loyalty trumps his allegiance to American law and to western concepts of individual human rights." says Dr. Phyllis Chesler.'
There's plenty more...

9) Robind Shepherd reminds us that
'According to a major opinion poll survey conducted by Pew in 2006, 97 percent of Egyptians admitted to holding “somewhat unfavourable” or “very unfavourable” opinions about Jews while none (zero percent) said they had favourable opinions about Jews; in Jordan 98 percent said they had unfavourable opinions with one percent holding favourable opinions.'

10) Daphne Anson reports that
'“Always Good to See You,” gushed the BBC Presenter to the Anti-Israel Arab Extremist'
'London-based Dr Abdel Bari Atwan, who’s dedicated (for some audiences subtly) to Israel’s overthrow, is, thanks to a fawning media, a familiar face on British television. Born in Gaza in 1950, he attended school in Jordan and studied journalism at Cairo University. He moved to London in 1978, working for a Saudi publication, and is now a British citizen.

In certain Arabic media, pre-eminently the widely-distributed Pan-Arab newspaper Al-Quds Al-Arabi (circulation about 50,000 according to one estimate), which he’s edited since its foundation in London in 1989 (and which has been banned or censored for its extremism in some pro-Western Arab countries), he’s foams with fury and venom against Israel and the West, and exults at their tragedies and setbacks. In 1996 he got a scoop by donning Afghan robes, trekking into remote terrain, and securing an interview with Osama Bin Laden, who took the opportunity of issuing a fatwa.

Dr Atwan can be considered one of those Arab radicals who’s made Londonistan what it is, to the avowed satisfaction of Frances Guy, a principal dhimmi-driver of Foreign Office appeasement (see her quoted remarks in my post of 15 January, “Drivers of Dhimmitude ...”)

The splendid Canadian columnist Mark Steyn – whose departure as a regular columnist from Britain’s Daily Telegraph is much regretted by his numerous admirers – has described Atwan aptly as a “celebrity eliminationist”, for there seems to be no shortage of Western venues and Western broadcasters prepared to host the extremist editor. '

That's ten down, about thirty more to go!

I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here - Who is Shaun Ryder?

Happy Mondays - 'Kinky Afro'

Shaun and Bez being interviewed by a game interviewer

And finally as a treat (!) from TFI Friday - Shaun Ryder and Black Grape cover the Sex Pistol's track - 'Pretty Vacant'. Here's the 'MySpace' description for the video:
'to sum up the situation so far: two TFI Friday guests had uttered the f-word live on air well before the watershed. the producers of the show had been subject to repeated warnings from the ITC. so what's the next logical step? why, invite Shaun Ryder back on to speak to chris and perform a cover version of the sex pistol's 'Pretty Vacant'. ah, but wait; it's not as stupid as it sounds. the pre-performance interview was taped earlier in the day to eliminate the possibility of any live rudery, and there are no rude words in the lyrics to 'pretty vacant', right guys? the incident had two repercussions - TFI went from a live show to a taped one, and the ITC made channel four add a special clause to it's programme compliance code stating that shaun ryder must never appear on a live show ever again.'

shaun ryder & black grape on tfi - pretty vacant

An end to celebrity culture, my arse!

The great Clunking Idiot has once again tried to get in on the Celebrity Game by attempting to appear on Match of the Day 2. The Guardian has the story:
"Downing Street asked if Brown could appear in the MOTD2 studio alongside the presenter, Adrian Chiles, and pundits, who include Lee Dixon, towards the end of last year. The prime minister's advisors wanted him to talk about England's bid for the 2018 World Cup, but after taking advice, the show's production team declined.

A BBC spokeswoman said: "We made the judgment it wouldn't be appropriate in the run-up to the election"."

I think you can judge what my reaction to this story is going to be, so let's instead look at three comments form Guardian readers:
"* Northumberland

Downing Street asked if Brown could appear in the MOTD2 studio alongside the presenter, Adrian Chiles

Is there anything this bloke won't do to ingratiate himself to the public. What next, tight pants, shirt unbuttoned down to the navel and a guest appearance on Dancing on Ice? What a tosser....

*outofbubble outofbubble

What a desperate twat.

* thirdattempt thirdattempt

Gordon Brown once claimed claim that his favourite goal of all time was scored by Paul Gascoigne for England versus Scotland.

He would be the only Raith Rovers supporter in history whose favourite goal was scored by England (never mind the fact that it was against Scotland).

Or, rather more likely, he is a liar who will say anything his handlers tell him, no matter how ridiculous it is.

Do you think he is listening to a lot of Arctic Monkeys at the moment?"

A serious man for serious times

Let me take you back in time, not too far, just to September 2008 when Gordon Brown gave his speech as Labour leader to the Labour Party Conference. Let's examine Gordon Brown's speech and see if it chimes with reality.

"I didn't come into politics to be a celebrity or thinking I'd always be popular. Perhaps, that's just as well. No, 25 years ago I asked the people of Fife to send me to parliament to serve the country I love.

And I didn't come to London because I wanted to join the establishment, but because I wanted and want to change it.

So I'm not going to try to be something I'm not."
Well he managed to become popular although the celebrity thing seems to have gone by the board what with Gordon Brown preferring to be interviewed by the incisive Fern Briiten and the hard hitting Piers Morgan rather than Jeremy 'pussycat' Paxman.

"if people say I'm too serious, quite honestly there's a lot to be serious about - I'm serious about doing a serious job for all the people of this country."
The serious man has with the serious job to do, is the man who prefers to be interviewed on the couch by Fern Britten and opine on Susan Boyle than be interviewed by Paxman and discuss the collapsing UK economy.

"And so here I am - working for this incredible country, while trying as far as possible to give my children an ordinary childhood. Some people have been asking why I haven't served my children up for spreads in the papers. And my answer is simple. My children aren't props; they're people."

But ready to cry on television in an effort to appear normal.

"And where I've made mistakes I'll put my hand up and try to put them right. So what happened with 10p stung me because it really hurt that suddenly people felt I wasn't on the side of people on middle and modest incomes - because on the side of hard-working families is the only place I've ever wanted to be. And from now on it's the only place I ever will be."
Interesting if he makes mistakes he will try and put them right but not apologise.

"But our duty, what gives us moral purpose, is serving the people who need us most- Britain's vast majority - people on middle and modest incomes who need to know that they are not on their own amidst this change - we are on their side."
That will be the people who will be paying an extra 3-5p in the pound on Income Tax for the next 30, 40, 50 years to pay fir Gordon Brown's stupidity.

"We are and will always be a pro-enterprise, pro-business and pro-competition government. And we believe the dynamism of our five million businesses large and small is vital to the success of our country. "
Fine words but since the reality is completely at odds with the rhetoric I think we can just ascribe the words 'political promises' to these sentiments.

"So the new settlement also requires another great and historic endeavour to end the dictatorship of oil and to avert catastrophic climate change, a transformation in our use of energy. New nuclear power, an unprecedented increase in renewables and investment in clean coal."
How's the nuclear power plans coming along, any chance of them being on-stream before the blackouts start?

"And I am asking the climate change committee to report by October on the case for, by 2050 not a 60% reduction in our carbon emissions, but an 80% cut - and I want British companies and British workers to seize the opportunity and lead the world in the transformation to a low carbon economy and I believe that we can create in modern green manufacturing and service one million new jobs."
Ah man made climate change the refuge of socialist scoundrels and totalitarians the world over. It's not happening but that won't stop them using it as an excuse to tax us more.

"But I say to you that we will invest it wisely, continuing our record investment in schools, Sure Start centres, transport and hospitals."
That great New Labour lie, that all Labour spending is 'investment' and so beyond criticism.

"People feel their communities are changing before their eyes and it's increasing their anxiety about crime and anti-social behaviour. And so we will be the party of law and order."
Why do people feel their communities are changing? Could it because since 1997 Labour have openned our borders to an unprecedented degree and so changed the face of the UK for ever and in a way that they had no mandate for. As for claiming to be the party of 'law and order', the politicisation of the police force and the turning of much of the judicial system into a revenue raising arm of government rather than a punishment programme has had the expected result of making much of the UK's inner cities near no-go areas.

"When we talk about three million more people in work since 1997 - that's not just a number, that's a life that's been changed - three million times over"
How many of thise three million jobs have gone to UK citizens and how many to immigrants from elsewhere in the EU or beyond? That makes the figures look and sound less impressive.

"fairness is in our DNA."
No comment necessary re this absurd claim form the head of one of the most unfair governments ever to ruin this country.

"The measures we have taken this year alone will help lift two hundred and fifty thousand children out of poverty. "
Is that a gross or net figure? I think the former, in which case how many dropped into poverty. Anyway how is poverty defined and does that definition explain why Labour have concentrated on those on the margins of poverty rather than the poorest, with the side disbenefit that economic equality is now worse than it was in 1997.

"And Ed Balls and I will never excuse, explain away or tolerate low standards in education. So we will keep up the pace of reform: more academies, trust and specialist schools, more of the brightest and best graduates becoming teachers, more investment in building schools for the future - state of the art schools for world class schooling."
As the UK drops down the world's education leagues. Whilst in the UK we now have an all shall have prizes education system as exam standards drop year after year.

"in just one year in the fight against hospital infections, we have doubled the number of matrons and achieved a 36 percent reduction in MRSA."
How much did the number of matrons reduce in the first 10 years of this Labour government and how much did MRSA increase before this 36% reduction?

"Jacqui Smith and Jack Straw are introducing a landmark reform in our justice system - to put victims first. In consultation with victim support we will create an independent commissioner who will stand up for victims, witnesses and families"
12 years of putting the interests of the criminals first and now a change of heart, is that one anyone could really believe.

"I am proud that Britain will honour our obligations to provide refuge from persecution. And we recognise the contribution that migrants make to our economy and our society, but the other side of welcoming newcomers who can help Britain is being tough about excluding those adults who won't and can't. That's why we have introduced the Australian-style points-based system, the citizenship test, the English language test and we will introduce a migrant charge for public services."
What about the migrants who don't make a positive contribution but who live off of benefits and in some cases work for the destruction of the UK? Is this the same "Australian-style points-based system" that Labour so derided when originally suggested by the Conservative party?

"And so let's hear no more from the Conservatives - we did fix the roof while the sun was shining."
Really? How?

There is more, much more, but I really have a limited bullshit input and I have reached that now.

Elliot from Scrubs

I always did like watching Scrubs, maybe the above is why...

Plenty more photos of Sarah Chalke/Elliot here.

But I think these may not be entirely real...

And that lead me to finding a whole internet subculture of fake celebrity nude photos, these (not) of Calista Flockhart are particularly disturbing... although the first on this page of Courtney Cox is oddly convincing but who on earth would want to see Victoria Beckham nude?

Celebrity Big Brother oddity

I don't watch Big Brother any more and Celebrity Big Brother leaves me cold but I am ashamed to admit that I like to watch the 'celebrities' go into the House, just to see if I recognise any of them. Quite a string of the past it, the never were, the never will be and the who? Apart from Vinnie Jones & Stephanie Beacham I don't think I'd have recognised any of the others without being told who they were. Basshunter I remembered from Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Heid Fleiss's face I remembered from the papers way back when I was told who they were. Dane Bowers I have heard of but wouldn't recognise from the porn tape. Stephen Baldwin I feel I should recognise but he seems to have changed somewhat since The Usual Suspects. Alex & Katia, sorry but I don't follow the celebrity gossip mags. Lady Sovereign and Sisco have thankfully not impacted on my musical radar and Page 3 girls pas me by.

The only interesting thing last night and I don't know if it was set-up to generate publicity was the exchange between ex-Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss and Stephen Baldwin: Heidi Fleiss greeted Stephen Baldwin with "I've seen you before." to which he replied "It's been a long time.".... interesting, but only for a few minutes.

I shall not be watching Celebrity Big Brother again this year.

Gordon Brown hard at work tackling the important issues

I note that Gordon an "end to celebrity culture" has once again felt the need to modify his position on a deeply important question. Apparently
"Gordon Brown has admitted that he regrets the way he worded his recent criticism of X Factor duo John & Edward.

Earlier this month, the Prime Minister branded the pair "not very good" as he discussed the ITV1 talent show in a radio interview.

Speaking on This Morning today, Brown admitted: "I got into a bit of a problem because I said I did not think they were very good at singing - but they are very good at other things.

"I don't know who's going to win, but I rather burned my boats with Jedward."

After confirming that he would like the twins to "do well", the politician added that he and his young sons are supporters of the programme's last remaining female act Stacey Solomon.

Brown also said that his children enjoy Danyl Johnson's performances, but mistakenly referred to the teacher as "Daryl"."
I wonder how much foucus grouping was done to come up with an answer that compliments so many and plumps for the only female contestant left? This smacks of a repeat of "biscuitgate".

Meanwhile I heard yesterday that Boris Johnson when asked about who he wanted to win some reality show, or some other equally puerile question, replied along the lines that he didn't watch the programme and did that really reduce his credibility. Well said Boris; most of these programmes are utter drivel and any politician that desperate to appear one of the people that they pretend to like these programmes deserves nothing but disdain.

No John Barrowman, no!

I switched on the television tonight and there was some celebrity reality show Around The World In 80 Days on with John Barrowman and Myleene Klass in a car. Not really noteworthy or interesting except at that moment John Barrowman proudly told Mylene Klass that TARDIS stood for "Time And Relative Dimensions In Space"

No, no, no: TARDIS stands for "Time And Relative Dimension In Space"

Do these celebrities learn nothing?!

For no real reason here's a picture of The TARDIS and also of Myleene Klass...

Oh OK and one of John Barrowman, although he really doesn't deserve it for that mistake...
