The EU Treaty (again)

Do you remember my article about the Select Committee on Foreign Affairs? Well they have just issued their third report and you can read it all here, the Conclusions and recommendations can be read here. You might be interested in their conclusion 27 -

"27. We conclude that there is no material difference between the provisions on foreign affairs in the Constitutional Treaty which the Government made subject to approval in a referendum and those in the Lisbon Treaty on which a referendum is being denied. (Paragraph 219)"

Maybe Gordon Brown, David Miliband or some other Labour government spokesman could answer this point... Maybe the BBC could raise this point when any Labour apparatchik spouts the party line that the EU Constitution and the EU Treaty as are as different as fish and fowl; there again, don't hold your breath.
