Can you imagine having to live in close proximity to George Galloway or Ruth Kelly or Jack Straw or Tessa Jowell or ...
A possible proposal arising from the Commons review of MPs' expenses is just that, to house all (presumably out of London MPs) in one or more upmarket halls of residence. It is nice to think this through; would they need one building for Labour MPs, one for Conservative MPs and one for the minor parties? What happens to the empty rooms after the 2009 or 2010 election when there are only 100 or so Labour MPs left? Would anyone want to live next door to George Galloway? Would Sinn Fein and UDP MPs like living next door to each other? If MPs are not segregated by political party, would Anne Widecombe and Ruth Kelly have pillow-fights each night? Would we need male and female blocks of apartments, or is that homophobic? The questions are endless....
Maybe we could just settle on proper auditing of expenses and no making of profit on 2nd homes paid for by the taxpayer.

It's quite simple really, they should be forced to live in poorest parts of London.
This would concentrate their minds wonderfully reducing street crime and improving public transport...
