Alistair Darling and inflationary pressures

On the BBC Toady programme this morning Alistair Darling said that pumping £2.7bn into the economy via a reduction in taxes would not be inflationary, strange that when the same Labour government refused to pay the full amount of the Police pay award it was because that would be inflationary.
