Oh what a surprise!

I see that: Lord Ahmedm
"A Labour peer who was jailed for 12 weeks for sending and receiving text messages while driving on the M1 has been released by the Court of Appeal."

So having originally been sentenced to 12 weeks, that was cut to six weeks, then to actually serving 18 days and now Lord Ahmed is released after serving just 16 days.

British justice, don't it make you proud to be British? I am generally against civil actions in cases like these but maybe Mr Gombar's family could sue Lord Ahmed in a sort of repeat of the OJ Simpson civil case.

Well done the BBC. They got the quote from the road safety charity, (must have taken hours of work). No mention of the fact that this decision has "irreparably and permanently" damaged the law.

Special pleadings for community organisers are not enough. If that shmuck wasn't a Lord he would, quite rightly, still be in prison.
