"The Prime Minister's answer must be heard..."

"The Prime Minister's answer must be heard..."
So said Speaker Bercow during Gordon Brown's verbal flailing about at PMQs today. I can only assume that the words "to be believed" should have been appended to what Speaker Bercow said, thus:
"The Prime Minister's answer must be heard, to be believed".

Here's Gordon Brown's "0% rise" comment; do look at the faces of Harriet Harman, Tessa Jowell and Alistair Darling as they realise that their Prime Minister has once again made him look like the fool that he is.

If Tony Blair had made such a verbal slip he would have made light of it, got a laugh and then continued with his answer. Gordon Brown is just so proud, so stubborn, so obstinate, that he cannot admit to a mistake and so he just carries on and on and on whilst the opposition benches openly mock him and his own MPs sit stony faced presumably realising what an error they made two years ago.

Thanks to The Crown Blog for getting the video up so promptly.
