The best placed economy?


This graph shows the OECD's estimate of the fiscal deficit each of their members will amass this year (as a percentage of GDP). Note which country us right at the bottom of the list. Yes the UK will have the largest fiscal deficit in 2009. Do remember this chart next time you hear Gordon Brown, Alistair Darling or any other Labour fool or media apologist telling us that it is an international problem that started in the USA and that we couldn't have seen it coming. The truth is the UK economy is screwed even worse than alleged basket cases like Iceland, Ireland and Spain.

Norway seems to be doing quite nicely, presumably because they are not in the EU!
